“N29 B&B: a great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2014

It was a great pleasure to spend a long weekend at the N29 B&B. The two double rooms were excellently presented, clean and thoroughly equipped, with lots of attention to detail which showed that the owners have thought long and hard about how to make the place comfortable, warm and welcoming. The hosts were excellent, they made us feel most welcome and took great care of us. The location close to the museums and also close to the town centre was a great convenience. One member of our family called it perfect. We will be definitely going back to stay again.

The regular hosts were away but their regular stand-ins Ger and Marie-An were on hand and as previous reviewer madsab20 explained they were great (and I echo their comments about the B+B ).The breakfasts were absolutely awesome. Ger and Marie-An, if you are reading this "Thanks again" you were awesome!

We stayed at N29 with our two sons for six nights and had the whole main floor to ourselves, just like an apartment. Ian and Diederick gave us such a warm welcome it was like staying with friends. The beds are nice and long, a real find in Europe. The rooms have been recently renovated with attention to detail and quality furnishings. It was wonderful to wake-up to such a complete breakfast, set-up perfectly and with different items everyday. The location is within walking distance to museums, restaurants, canals, and the tram. Our hosts gave great advice on all topics, and have a good sense of humour. This was so much better than staying in a hotel. We will be recommending N29 to our friends.

Great place to stay in central amsterdam only 10 minutes walk away from museumplein and leidsplien. Tram stop only a 3-5 minute walk away. Hosts were away but their subs Ger and Marie-An were great. Breakfast was plentiful and they are very willing to accomadate to your needs. We tried some delicious home made herring, daily fresh artisan bread and fresh fruit salad. Plus you can use the kitchenette, where they have light snacks and nespresso machine and kettle for teas, etc. Beds and bathrooms were luxurious and the home was a great place to return to after a day of exploration, or if you need a break a break in the middle of the day.

We were able to walk to "Puri Mas" in leidsplein in about 10 minutes for the typical indonesian ristaffel. Walked to Rijksmuseum walking west and down in about 12 minutes. Walked to De Pijp area, Heinekken Museum and Albert Cupstraat street market in under 25 minutes. While everything is walkable, I'd recommend the OV travel card to use the trams to explore and to travel back to Centraal station as it is more convenient.

Room Tip: South side faces street and can be slightly noisy in the morning (bicyces and kids going to school e...

A restful place with very nice and clean room. We had incredible breakfasts!
Close to all places, you can rent a bike and park it in front of the b&b and feel like home.
Very good advises from the hosts who are very helpful people.

Room Tip: We had the room on street side which was very quiet: we slept until 10 am.

N29 is a wonderful B &B with the most welcoming and friendly hosts. This was the highlight of our trip to Amsterdam. It is recently renovated and beautifully furnished, and the place was spotlessly clean. They have 2 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom - the south room is bigger, so my husband and I stayed there, while our 2 (adult ) kids had the patio room, which had 2 twin beds, and a tiny bathroom. Essentially we had our own little apartment, with it's own kitchen and eating area, so we could eat there if we wanted at any time. Ian and Dederik are the perfect hosts, and provided an outstanding breakfast each day, which kept us going until long past lunchtime! We particularly loved having our coffee and lattes in the morning with the wonderful espresso machine. The area is very quiet, yet within easy walking distance of all the main museums and sights. We hope to return and will definitely recommend N29 to our friends

We arrived late afternoon and were greeted by "stand ins" for the owners-who were away. Our greeting couldn't have been any warmer and the hosts more friendly. We were shown to the south room. It was a spacious room with king sized bed and a huge bathroom. All my expectations were met and then some. The room was spotlessly clean and so was the lovely breakfast area and kitchen. The breakfasts were spectacular (ate way too much). The hosts whose names I don't have the proper spelling for (sorry) bent over backwards to meet our every need. The man walked with us to show us how to get to the VanGogh museum-he made reservations at a near by restaurant and showed us how to get there. He called a taxi for us when we left -a late check out was no problem. Fabulous place.

Room Tip: The south room bathroom was easier access than the north room but both basically the same. I would s...
