We found out that we would try something different than big hotels. We were looking for houseboats stay and booked through The Guest-house boat. It was a perfect choice about 15 mins walk from Rotterdam Central. It is a busy area surrounded by small shops and restaurants and bicyckle traffic - and all you need close by. The house boat was however in a quite street/canal. The staff meet us upon arrival with the key and was very helpful with all sort of issues. The "space" was a corridor, separate bathroom w/shower and toilet. Then a combinated bedroom/kitchen with a table and two chairs overlooking the view of the canal. In th fridge we noticed rose wine and 2 boxes of beer as a welcome gift, very much appreciated. All was good maintained and very good athmosphere. It was just perfect to make your own breakfast and sit and eat with the ducks looking at you. We really enjoyed this stay and would recommend it to everyone ( not for small children, as too close to the sea). Walking distance to Anne Frank Museum, sigh seeing buses and boats. The boat had heater for cold weather and a fan to be used if hot outside. Perfect choice for a romantic weekend!
