Advice: make reservations before visiting restaurant/bar, as we barely made it in by just showing up.
At first we were thinking this would be a kitschy, creepy atmosphere but we went with an open mind: what we found was an upscale yet laid back environment with friendly staff and even better cocktails. I loved the selection of spirits displayed, especially the whiskey and rum selections. They make PROPER cocktails. I tried a few including one rum punch concoction that I give my stamp of approval for being a take on the traditional but with a twist.
The menu is one of the more interesting offerings I have seen in Amsterdam, but be sure to order from the dinner menu and not the food cocktail menu because you get more bang for your buck and its a greater selection.
Would recommend to a traveler who enjoys a fun yet classy environment.
