“Loved this property!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2014

I recently booked the Andaz Amsterdam as a post-cruise overnight stay and was pleasantly surprised. My cab driver commented that the building used to be a library and that he would go there as a child, which inspired the décor, very modern with traditional Dutch touches...it was such a treat to stay there! The Front Desk staff was most welcoming and professional, made me feel right at home, and the room was nicely appointed, spacious and extremely comfortable. I also enjoyed the menu and service at their restaurant. The hotel has a great location facing the canal and a short walk from the main streets--it's truly a small jewel in Amsterdam and I can't wait to go back!

This beautifuly decorated hotel, designed by the famous Duch designer, Marcel Wanders, made our stay in Amsterdam so enjoyable, that we already plan our next visit there.
The rooms are luxerious, the loby and restaurant are fascinating, the architecture is inspiring and at the same time pampering and relaxing. The staff is very friendly and helpful, young and cool.
The location is perfect, on one of Amsterdam's lovliest canals, close to Ann Frank House.
All made our stay in Amsterdam last March, a perfect stay!

Room Tip: Canal view

Extremely helpful reception staff. Comfortable modern room and totally sound proofed from noise inside and outside the hotel.
Location is in a very nice, safe neighbourhood with plenty of good restaurants.
we appreciated the facilities in the room including a kettle

Had an opportunity to spend a few nights at the Andaz this past month on one of two trips to Amsterdam... Had a personal tour of huge facility from the General Manager who showed me the facility and explained the designers thinking (and just what he intended to do with those crazy shirtless screaming king statues).

Anyhoo, it's a design centric hotel that is very cool and well located. Service is terrific and I think the food service and bar is terrific. The open kitchen and bar is organized in such a way that guests can actually enter areas of the kitchen and there really is no "behind the bar"... It gives one the feeling they're in their own home.... Or it's a comfortable private club.

The rooms are nice - comfortable and exactly what they need to be. All snacks and non-alcoholic drinks are included (as with all Andaz hotels). If I had a singular change it would be that the bathroom mirror was positioned so one could shave over the sink and see the mirror... Instead the mirror is basically next to the sink basin.

I'm sure I will return to this hotel on future trips to Amsterdam.

Room Tip: Canal and garden views are both nice.

We had a great time at Andaz and will certainly recommend!
What a beautiful hotel and friendly staff. All top services available.

The rooms decor is absolutely amazing!
Although we find it awkward that the bathroom is in the middle of the room (toilet is the only part of the bathroom that is private) it actually works very well and give a different touch and functionality to the room!

We stayed in a room at the building across the garden and the garden itself is nice. Nice location to access all the points of interest in the city center also.

We arrived for a late check in at Andaz and was greeted with a complimentary glass of wine due to our proposal. After check-in we got escorted to the room by a very nice staff member.
The room had great view out over the canal and it's interior was top class.
Beds was also very comfortable.

The morning after we had a great full breakfast with everything you could wish for.
We where so happy when we left.

Room Tip: Canal view is recommended if you want to see the canals. It's beautiful!

The staff at Andaz truly went above and beyond! They make this hotel first class! We asked about the train service to Brussels, and the staff not only told us the best way to proceed, they actually booked the train for us and wrote down details of which platforms to use. The staff also helped us locate specific shops we wanted to go to within Amsterdam. We were very impressed with their professionalism and helpfulness!

The Andaz is situated in a nice neighborhood with convenient access to the tram, grocery store, ATM, restaurants, shopping, and much more. The area, although convenient to everything, was very quiet. We were very pleased with the location.

The room was pristine! We had a Deluxe King room that overlooked the canal. The room is very quirky, which was exactly what we wanted in Amsterdam. The bed was comfortable, the shower was spacious, and the decor was bright and fun. There is a mini bar with complimentary soft drinks, water, and snacks. The mini bar gets restocked daily. It is a very nice touch!

Complimentary wine was served every night in the library from 1700 to 1900. It was a nice time to relax and discuss dinner options with other guests and the staff.

The Andaz has complimentary bikes that you can borrow for the day. They can be signed out on a first come, first serve basis. There are maybe 6 or 8 bikes, and we did not have trouble getting them late in the afternoon for a ride in Vondelpark.

This is a wonderful hotel, with a top notch staff. Every detail has been considered, and every effort is made to make your stay memorable and comfortable. It was truly a pleasure to stay at the Andaz Amsterdam, Prinsengracht. We will definitely stay at Andaz properties in the future, and we highly recommend Andaz for your trip to Amsterdam!

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the canals.
