I took my boyfriend to Amsterdam for his birthday during may and was highly disappointed in this hotel. To start with, we'd just come back from greece where we stayed in a 5 star hotel, so we were expecting similar luxuries, staff behaviour etc. When we arrived the staff member that greeted us was indeed polite, but seemed really uninterested in us or our stay and this was the same with all the staff. They also didnt wear proper uniform which I found to be unprofessional. In this so called 4 star hotel, my fridge was EMPTY, and we later found that we had to pay to stock the fridge, which to me is extremely backwards!!! Anyone else used to paying for what they actually take from their mini bar????? Breakfast is 15 euro extra, but should be included as this hotel is overpriced with tiny rooms. So im already pissed that ive paid virtually 5star prices for what should be a 2 star 3 at a push! !! And then we find that the hotel is 2 doors down from a psychiatric unit!! Now I could probably get past everything, as my complaints are subjective, (apart from the price), you might even say theres nothing particularly wrong with this hotel....... but to be fair, theres nothing particularly right about it, and that for me, was a problem.
