“Good hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 weeks ago

It is a nice hotel. We had a room in the basement hotel with a really nice architecture, but in the morning it was really noisy from above. The beds were amazingly comfortable, but there was no minibar or wifi in the room.
The hotel staff was friendly and the location was prefect.
The only thing I can really complain about this hotel is the breakfast. Really really poor (2 kinds of ham and one of cheese and butter).
But in the end it was a great choice and if we will visit again Amsterdam we will book it again

Room Tip: Don't book a basement room

This hotel is located three blocks from the main train station, so is very central. It has easy access to all museums, and is close to restaurants. The breakfast provided was very good, the rooms clean and the beds are comfortable, but the shower has a floor that allowed the water to drain into the bedroom which was a little bit of a problem. The lift did not go to all floors so we were on the third floor and had to carry our luggage up the stairs. The staff was helpful whenever we need help getting anywhere. Transit was very close but we never needed to use it, there was a grocery store within four blocks so ask the staff how to get to it as the corner store prices are at least double that of the grocery store. The airport has easy access via the train station

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the harbor

This Hotel is basically 2 17th century Town Houses...drastically remodelled in 2013, I stayed at the rear ground floor, in a delightful room clean well furnished... window to a lightwell looking directly into the restaurant, excellent wet room shower etc, staff helpful, breakfast 'Dutch' Continental only, but plenty of it. The hotel is brilliantly situated for the centre being a short walk to the central square (though China town and the red light district if you choose). It is a longer walk o the major museums across the Centre, but entirely possible. The clientele seem to be a mix of ages from across the globe, all private clients... it has a very sensitive fire alarm and is fully non smoking, the budget rooms attract younger crowd... and you are in Amsterdam.. it went off once in 4 nights. I would recommend though is completely useless if you are mobility impaired.

Room Tip: I had a superior twin at the rear, which was quiet... it fronts a very busy rood, which I'd imag...

Stayed two nights. 5-10min walk from the train station. Great location in the city centre. The rooms are very modern and comfortable. Staff were very helpful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

Pros:
Short walk from train station (about 3/4 mins)
Clean, modern, comfortable room
Breakfast simple but well stocked and tasty
Helpful staff
Room cleaned and new towels every day

Cons:
Slightly further than expected from central red light district (but this also could be seen as a pro in terms of quiet)
Fire alarm went off several times during the night on one occasion (but I think this was a one off due to a certain guest)

Overall, great value for money would definitely stay again.... Would describe almost as a Travel lodge/premier inn in the UK (no frills but clean, comfortable and good value).
