“Amazing food, good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

I've been to la Cacerola a few times now, and it has been amazing every time. A real discovery in Amsterdam. It's famous for its amazing meat, especially the signature Churrasco Picanha which is simply so juicy and full of flavour. But the great thing is that the chef creates new amazing combinations each time, and keeps surprising you. There are also some exotic dishes and day specials varying from curries to scallops in saffron sauce or the amazing Asian fish cakes with green mango salad. Desserts are equally amazing, with the runny Guava Soufflé being one of my favourites!

The atmosphere is cosy, and the staff are very very friendly. It has a homely atmosphere as the restaurant is not so large, and the food is simply delicious, creative and original!

“fab”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

We had a starter called hide and seek which was lovely and then sirloin and fillet as main. These guys really know how to cook meat! The chef was trying 5 different meat sources, (I had the Scottish beef) and was obviously interested in our opinion. Atmosphere was great ,the staff were lovely and the service was fab.

“Absolutely loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

From the look of the restaurant, the atmosphere in general, to the staff, the food and the chef. Everything just works and you can feel that. It's a very relaxed, almost homely place, and the food is amazing. I would definitely recommend the picanha!

“Excellent Brazilian food, great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013 via mobile

The place may easily be mistaken as to be an average place that you wouldn't even consider by the looks of it. Very rustic...
We were met by a very service-minded waitress who offered to carry a table down the stairs and put it outside for us to enjoy the warm summer night! From then on she didn't disappoint either, tentative and there when we needed.
The food was amazing. Very well presented and it was a joy letting the pallet sense the tastes and concistences.
Dutch chef trained by a Brazilian making Brazilian food with a Dutch twist. Highlight was the picanha. Supersoft, juicy and perfectly salted steak made to perfection.
Highly recommended.

“Brazilian food better than in Brazil”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

We had a great dining experience and romantic dinner at this restaurant. We ate escondidinho and as a Brazilian I can say that it was one level above of what you usually find in Brazil. Presentation + taste= amazing. For the main dish it was picanha. The meat was extremely soft and tasty, it was one of my best experiences with meat in Europe. I had one glass of Spanish wine and it was very good also. The lemon mousse was delicious. The waitress made us feel at home and was very attentive. The restaurant is cosy and goes well for a birthday celebration (there was one happening when we were there) as well as for a nice dinner in town. It´s possible to sit outside if the weather is good. I must say: Don´t miss it!
