Like so many other people, my fiancé and I found Le Quartier Sonang through Trip Advisor. Please do yourselves a favor. Look no further. This B&B is incredible. The owners, Frank and Oki, are the absolute definition of hospitality.

From my first correspondence, I knew that our stay would be great. All of my questions were answered in a few emails. A bonus was when Frank suggested several attractions and restaurants that we might want reservations for ahead of time. Without this help, our time in Amsterdam wouldn't have been so smooth.

The B&B is tucked onto a quiet residential street just outside the main center of Amsterdam. All the major attractions are just a few minutes walk. I think there are only two available rooms so an early reservation is a must. We stayed in the suite overlooking the courtyard; I don't think we could have made a better choice. Both of us enjoyed eating a delicious breakfast while looking out over the balcony. The bed was fantastic - so soft, yet there was still enough structure for a good sleep. And the shower was amazing too. You could not ask for a better room.

But the best part of our stay was Frank and Oki themselves. As soon as we arrived, Frank sat us down to orient us to the city. He made several excellent attraction and dining suggestions. Our fantastic experience in Amsterdam was in large part due to Frank's input. In addition, I know I was a trying guest during our stay. We had several special issues that other B&B owners probably would not have taken in stride. But Frank and Oki, no matter how much I tried their patience, always were ready with answers and smiles. I am so appreciate of their gracious help.

Please do yourself a favor. Stay at Le Quartier Sonang. You will have an amazing time.

This was a terrific B&B. Frank gave us a warm welcome and brilliant overview of Amsterdam. He told us about many great restaurants in the neighborhood and was willing to make dinner reservations for us. Oki served us the fresh breakfast each morning and made us feel incredibly welcome during our two night stay. The room and balcony were outstanding. Perfect location for seeing the museums as well as central Amsterdam. Thank you Frank and Oki!

We had a perfect time around in Amsterdam with the warm welcome of two lovely host Oki and Frank. Truly enjoy the stay in their house, particularly love the well prepared breakfast and detailed cosy house design!

Don't forget to try cycling in the Vondelpark, bike rental service available just a few streets away from the B&B!

Room Tip: Visitors do not need to worry about the noise -- they got special design on sound insulation. Better...

We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Le Quartier Sonang is located in a nice neighborhood. Good choice of restaurants nearby: Italian, Thai, seafood, etc. Walking distance to the museums, Vondell Park, 9 Streets.

Oki and Frank made us feel very welcome during our 4-night stay. It was evident that they knew what guests would appreciate: The B&B was well-designed, and used quality items: from the well-designed bathroom, the luxurious bed, satisfying and artfully-presented breakfasts.
We never had to worry about where to go or what to do.They were around to give directions and guidance when needed, and observed and provided what we needed without being asked (like the wine opener and glasses when they found the wine bottle in our room; the knife for the fruits we bought, etc).
It was clear that they enjoyed running the B&B and helping guests enjoy Amsterdam. And the level of service resulting from that is definitely worth returning to.

This was my first visit to Amsterdam and our friends chose 'Le Quartier Sonang' for our two night stay. On arrival, Oki received us warmly with a welcome cup of tea, maps and lot of information about the local area and Amsterdam. Our room was perfect, the balcony and windows make the room very light and it was very pleasant to have a quick drink on the balcony before we went out for dinner. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept really well, my husband also loved the Coco Mat complimentary slippers, the bathroom was large and very modern. Oki came to our room each morning with a beautiful breakfast tray. The location of 'Le Quartier Sonang' is excellent just a little outside the main city in a quiet residential area, but only about 20 minutes walk into the centre and tourist attractions. Thank–you Oli and Frank for creating such an oasis of calm to return to each day and for your wonderful hospitality, we plan to return.

Room Tip: both rooms are great

I tend to be very sceptical about reviews I read online. However, in the case of Le Quartier Sonang all of the reviews are true - it is an amazing B & B and if you want a great place to stay and a great host you must stay here! Oki received us with open arms and gave us some great hints for places to see and local restaurants. He also surprised us with a bottle of champagne for our anniversary! If you want to stay in a great neighbourhood that is very close to everything, but quiet at night time this should be your first choice! Thanks again for the amazing service!

We made an excellent choice in choosing 'Le Quartier Sonang' for our three night trip to Amsterdam. After flight delays in London Oki and Frank received us with a warm welcome despite being late at night. They immediately made us feel comfortable, relaxed, and right at home. The bottle of wine was exactly what we needed!

We loved the room - Chambre de Ville. This has a real open spacious feel, with a gorgeous balcony and huge windows to let the light pour in. The bed is amazingly comfortable and made for a great nights sleep. The bathroom is modern and the rainfall shower is truly refreshing. It's the other intricate details which made the room great. We loved the fresh flowers, the nespresso coffee machine, the guide books, and the comfy chairs. The fridge proved really useful for storing our cheese and wine! Oki provided an amazing fresh breakfast each day to the room at our set time. This was a great way to start the day!

The location of 'Le Quartier Sonang' is perfect. It has a real sense of community, with great restaurants and a supermarket. It was 15 minutes walk to Anne Frank house, Heineken, and the museums. It was a leisurely 30 minute walk to the Red Light District. It also felt really safe when walking home at night. Oki and Frank provided ample information on the sights, and their restaurant recommendations were spot on.

We cannot thank you enough for your warm hospitality and we have never felt so welcome and comfortable in a bed and breakfast. From the first contact through to booking and arrival Oki and Frank were so helpful. It was like our little apartment in the middle of a gorgeous city. Keep up the good work! Look forward to seeing you again.

Room Tip: Either room! Both are great!
