“Outstanding Peter the Great Exhibition”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

The Hermitage Museum is host for 6 months to an outstanding Exhibition on the life of the Russian Tsar, Peter the Great. The Hermitage has plenty of space to depict all aspects of this remarkable man's life, and they do it superbly.

“All about Peter”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

I was expecting something a bit different but we were there for the Peter the Great exhibition. I certainly learned a lot about him and was very impressed by the layout and breadth of knowledge portrayed. The exhibit itself was nicely done and well laid out. I left wanting a bit more - something having nothing to do with Peter.

“Beautiful building comples inside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

There was a Peter the Great exhibit under way. There were some beautiful paintings as well as gold items to see. The one thing I found most annoying about this museum was there were no benches to sit on, on the first floor, just on the second floor. So you tended to rush through the first floor but enjoy the second floor more. There is a gift shop and cafeteria style restaurant. I enjoyed the quiche and my husband had sausage with sauerkraut, and the prices weren't bad. The dining area is very large and bright, most inviting.

“Over-priced and badly planned”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

15 euros for an adult ticket is the same as the Rijksmuseum! It's simply not a comparable experience, and apart from the wonderful Scythian gold collection, there's very little of quality to see. Strange to start the exhibition with his death!
