“What more could you want for the price?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013

Smack bang in the middle of the Red Light District, i was very impressed with this place. They had Welcoming and Friendly Staff, and a 24 Hour Bar. We had a Decent sized Twin Room on the Second Floor which wasn't too much of a killer walking up the stairs to at all. The beddings/pillows were clean and the bed was really comfy, and we ended up putting the beds together which was fine. Our room overlooked an alleyway and we could see some of the ladies in their windows if we peeked, and yes it was a tad noisy at times but that was to be expected and was all part of the experience. My bf was scared of falling out of the window - HA...can't imagine why! The whole place was well kept and clean to be honest, loved the modern touch with the wet room showers - they were amazing! Extra Brownie points awarded for the great Breakfast in the basement - for free you could not grumble...I have a soft spot for the old Continental breakfast...Juices, Coffee/Hot Choc/Latte's + range of teas!! Boiled Eggs, Scrambled Eggs, Range of Breads, Butters, Spreads, Range of Cold Meats and Cheese, Jams, Chocolate Spread, Hazelnut Spread...and SPRINKLES!!! All in all a fabulous 2 day break and will definitely come again!

i was pretty sure when making the reservation for a hotel/hostel in the center of the red light district we were going to either have an amazing weekend or be scared of becoming part of the next sequals to the movie Hostel... it was the first! we had 3 people in a triple room that had windows that yes looked right out in to the red light district. so close to all things we just rented bicycles to go everywhere (fyi there is no free parking in Amsterdam 30-60 euro a day!!) the place was clean, beds were comfy and there was security that checked everyone coming in and there was a locked entry. all in all this was a fantastic adventure and if we end up there again i would def stay again (but next time we would leave the car at home!)

Room Tip: there is no elevator pack light!

Stayed at this hotel in Aug,.... 3 of us in 1 room as we were just there for 2 nights.
The hotel is old as is everything in the red light district but did the trick. The rooms are very small and its really nothing but a room, 1 double 1 single with a shared floor bathroom. a sink in the room. The room view looked right down on 3 red light doors with 3 women (or men ) hard to tell, was kind of fun to watch. There is a bar in the lobby open 24 hrs but after 1 its only open to hotel guests. Asked the bartender for a Long Island Ice tea... He looked at me lost and said you mean beer? lol but they had tequila and rum so we were set. They also have free WIFI. ide stay again as the location was perfect for the area.

Bit of a last minute booking, this was available and looked like a good central location. Didn't take too long to find it on foot from the train station. It is of course very "central" and the roads there are essentially traffic free which is great. Good points: location, I had my own little toilet room which was fine, breakfast pretty good, lots of orange juice. Nice walks to the west. Bed comfortable (though bedding surprisingly warm!) Pillows can be bit "big" in the Dutch way - ask for smaller if you like. Some fairly good places to eat nearby.

Bad points: unfortunately my room on the upper floor had a very strong smell of damp, in fact at first I wondered if someone had been smoking inside it - there was a glass on the window ledge outside filled with cigarette ends - however I believe it was actually a "damp" odour. So I opened the windows in effort to air the room - this didn't help much and of course let in a lot of local street noise outside....so sleep wasn't great. Be aware that as mentioned, the stairs are very steep.

The staff in the bar area downstairs are keen to know when you come back in. All in all, not bad location; but for the nightly price of €60, I think the damp issue MUST be sorted. This has downgraded its overall rating.

Room Tip: ask to see/smell first.
