“Good central location, nice room and reasonable price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2014

This is the third time i've stayed here and it's still good. They've done the hotel up since my last visit and it looks really nice.
The location is central and only a few minutes walk from the station, tram lines and many attractions which is great. We had a room on the ground floor this time and i was a little worried about the noise as it can get quite loud around there of an evening. There was no need for concern as we had no issues at all. The room itself was fairly spacious and was very clean. The only slight issue was that the cover on the bed was quite small so my husband and i ended up fighting each other for it in the night!
The area itself is seriously busy and can be a little seedy but thats kind of the trade off for such a central location. Once inside the hotel though it all seems a million miles away.
Staff were courteous and helpful so no complaints there. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel as there are quite a few places around locally that are reasonable and cheap. It looked good for the price though.
All in all i would definitely recommend it and would certainly be happy to return.

Stayed for one night for the King's day over the weekend! it is in a good location (close to Amsterdam central station), price is reasonable for a hotel, room is spacious and clean!

The only downside is the room is not sound proof, so if you will hear the conversation from your next door neighbour.

Will definitely go back to stay at this hotel again (with ear plugs!) but can't fault the hotel for the location and cleanliness!

I stayed here over new year and had nye in Amsterdam hotel is in a great location, it was clean and cheap and breakfast was ok too.

One of the management blokes quite rude to us when we returned to the hotel on New Year's Eve which has caused me to mark it down otherwise it would have been a four.

Prior to booking this hotel I spent a good hour trawling through hotels close to the Central Station in Amsterdam. We needed something that was within walking distance both of the station and most attractions in Amsterdam, that offered a level of quality above a hostel or similar, and which was preferably under £100 a night for a double room. I settled on this hotel and can say from the outset that it was exactly what we were after, so at this point feel free to book it yourself if you're after similar criteria without reading the rest of the review.

First of all, the location is absolutely perfect. It is a couple of minutes walk from the Central Station and was reasonably straightforward to find (the front of the hotel is hardly subtle). We never mind doing a bit of walking on city breaks, and found that as well as being ideally situated for the Red Light District and surrounding areas (it is literally right next to it), we could also comfortably walk to other attractions such as the Rijksmuseum. The latter is a couple of kilometres away from the hotel, but was perfectly manageable at an ambling pace whilst stopping to take in other attractions along the way.

For the room price of £90, the quality actually exceeded our expectations as well. The hotel is clean and well presented. The staff were polite and helpful, easily dealing with standard requests such as providing somewhere to store our bags during our last day after checkout. The rooms were perhaps a little small but not unreasonably so for a hotel located in the middle of a capital city. The bed was comfortable, there was a very good shower, and ultimately the room was more than sufficient in terms of quality and well appointed, with welcome extra amenities such as free Wi-Fi.

All in all, we were more than happy with the quality for the price and felt that we got excellent value for money. For those wanting a hotel with a central location in Amsterdam that is one step higher in terms of quality from hostels and such, look no further.

TOP TIP: Some reviews have commented on noise being an issue. Given the location of the hotel noise is always a potential problem, but we were advised to call the hotel the day before checking in to ask for a side room and not a street room. We actually forgot to do so, but requested a room away from the street when checking in and the staff member on reception was happy to oblige. As such from our room we had no issue with noise and had an excellent nights sleep. My advice would be to book the room and then call the day before to secure a room away from the street to minimise the chance of noise being an issue.

Room Tip: Call up the day before checking in and request a room away from the main street to minimise the chan...

Stayed at this hotel in December for two nights. It was very clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and it was a perfect location. It was my first time visiting Amsterdam and I will definitely stay at this hotel if I ever went again. Would highly recommend it.

I trawled the internet for the best price for a double room near to central station, and had disregarded cheaper hotels who could only offer twin beds. Given that we had been staying with a friend, we were so looking forward to a good hotel room- particularly the double bed!!!!
However...
Me 'hello- I have a reservation..'
No warm welcome, no greeting, just a man staring at his computer screen for easily 10 minutes.
Me 'err, we have a dinner reservation for 8... is there a problem'
Him '....................' pauses and eventually... 'well you reserved a double room, but I don't have any left'
Me 'well I called beforehand and was assured the reservation was all ok'
him ' ye but i dont have a double'
me 'okay, so have you given my room away to someone else?'
Him '[laughing] I can give you a twin room'
Me ' Is that all you can do'
Him '[hesitates] well as it's only me here you can push the beds together'.
Oh great! Cheeers mate! Thanks for so graciously allowing me to push twin beds together! That is exactely what I want from my last night with my boyfriend in amsterdam.
Me 'is there anything you can do to compensate me for this inconvenience'
Him 'you'll have to speak to my manager in the morning'.

So, a massive sour note to start our night off! Then, in the morning, different guy on the desk- I explain the situation. He rings his manager and puts down the phone.
Him 'I can offer you breakfast'.
Me 'Well, we have a plane to catch, so we cant do that- can you not take money off?'
Him 'no. payment has already gone through'.

As you can imagine, this was a pretty tragic end to our amsterdam trip- terrible service, awful communication and just really uncaring and disorganised staff. Why oh WHY would you allow me to book a double room, and then proceed to book people into double rooms you don't freakin have?!!!!!!

In the Centre of all of the fun! If you are travelling by car you can't drive directly outside the hotel, that got a little confusing and can be hard as the roads are narrow and you can't really just stop and wait. The car park offered is very cost effective compared to parking rates offered by others close by. However the car park if a good 20mins walk from the hotel. We did get lost on the way back but everything around is so beautiful that you don't mind:)
We had the room with three beds, and it was clean, tidy, and attractive. The noise can get a little distracting but its all part of the atmosphere. If your looking for quiet retreat hotel this is not it, if your looking for something central, cost effective, and a nice place to stay this is it!
