We had a fantastic 5-day stay in Suite 259 in June 2007. We came across Suite 259 on Trip Advisor and every single review was on the mark.

We stayed in the Safari suite which is so well equipped that it feels like home! It has a comfortable king-sized bed, air-conditioned, (free) internet access, a large TV, a DVD player with access to 1000 movie titles (yes, their movie library has grown!), a large wardrobe, hairdryer, a mini kitchenette with a microwave oven and a fridge full of complimentary drinks; and a bathroom that not only has a tub, shower but a Jacuzzi as well! The room is also well insulated that you can hardly hear the traffic on Overtoom street.

Suite 259 is well located. It is 2 mins walk away from Vondelpark and a 10 mins walk to the museums (Van Gogh, Rjiks). Tram 1 will take you directly from Centraal Station directly to Suite 259. Tram 1 also brings you from Suite 259 to the Dam Square in 10 mins or alternatively you can walk there in about 20 mins, passing Leidseplein, the picturesque canals of Prinsengracht, Keizergracht and Herengracht and the shopping street of Kalverstraat.

Aziz and Peter were the perfect hosts and Aziz cooked up the most delightful breakfast every morning. Peter was already awake at 6.30 am to welcome us after we landed in the early hours of the morning! Both of them took the trouble to make sure every part of our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. They would suggest places to visit when we meet up for breakfast every morning and Peter even provided us with the timetables of trains leaving Centraal Station to Delft and The Hague.

Suite 259 is a fantastic place to stay if you are considering a visit to Amsterdam and Aziz and Peter are the best hosts you can ever get. We would recommend this place and would definitely stay here if we are ever to return to Amsterdam.

Peter and Aziz welcomed me and my friends in the best way, with a good bottle of wine! We were there for my bachelor party (dam stag), and we had a really good time there. Breakfast was a fantastic surprise different every day, and the terrace was so nice, i really loved the special lights around the terrace. The fridge was plenty of nice beverages, and everything was like at home.....but at home I don't have that excellent and large bath tube (jacuzzi).
I hope to come back as soon as possible, only this time would be with me wife!

  • Liked — The owners!
  • Disliked — probably the 2nd bed is not enough big for two (big) guys!

Our stay in Suite 259 (upgraded to the Grand Sahara!) between May 11-14, 2007, was a lovely experience! Since the weather in Amsterdam could have been better, we were especially pleased to have such excellent accommodations. We don't think there's need to repeat all the lovely details that others have written about, suffice it to say that everything was taken care of: this is truly what is meant by the word service!
Our 3-year-old daughter was attended to in all ways possible, and Aziz and Peter truly made a strong impact on her. And she wants you to know that our green Amsterdam is enjoying her new home very much!

Breakfasts will never be the same again! We'll be back before you know it...

Best wishes from Princess Linn Qian, Liselott & Kjell from Finland

We stayed in the Grand Sahara suite for 5 nights and had a fabulous stay!
We travelled with our 16 month old son, who was made to feel right at home from the day of our arrival. Peter and Aziz went out of their way to ensure our stay was more than comfortable. The suite was thoroughly cleaned daily, with fresh towels available on request. We were welcomed with a lovely bowl of fresh fruit, a great bottle of wine, snacks (chocolate, rice crackers and biscuits) and a fridge full of complimentary mineral water, beer and soft drinks! There were even lovely fresh lillies in the living area and the bathroom (On booking, they asked what my favourite flowers were so it was fantastic to find that they had personalised the flower arrangements!)

The suite had all the furnishings one could have wished for (including a lovely jacuzzi bath!). All baby facilities were available, including travel cot, high chair, toys, and plenty of DVD's to keep young and old entertained.
Everything we could have wished for was provided for - they even went and bought us a raincover for the baby buggy after we'd forgotten ours in London!
Peter and Aziz were great hosts, and always available for a chat and to offer information and advice on things to see and do in Amsterdam.

The breakfasts were a delight! The other reviewers were not wrong about the delicious breakfasts which await you each morning! I definitely recommend going for the tropical breakfasts freshly prepared by Aziz each morning.

We left Amsterdam feeling refreshed, well fed and well looked after, (and my son had some wonderful new toys bought for him by Peter and Aziz).
This B&B is one heck of a find if you are travelling to Amsterdam, and there is no doubt in our minds that we will definitely be back to this little Gem!!

On our way to spending our honeymoon in Africa, my wife and I were put up at Suite 259 by my parents as a wedding gift to us. We arrived at the B&B and were immediately impressed! Peter helped us right away and offered us advice on places to go and things to do. The room was incredible and we especially took advantage of everything it had to offer. We loved sitting out on the deck. It is a bit of a walk to the city center but not unwalkable. Peter offered us plenty of great places to eat. I would definately suggest the Ethiopean place. Quite an experience. Breakfast was amazing and we loved every bit of it. My only advice- bring cash only. It is rare that anyone takes t. checks or credit cards.
