Suite 259 was a wonderful experience beginning to end. Peter and aziz went far beyond what we expected from meeting us at our cars to help carry luggage to the fresh squezed OJ every moring and even fresh flowers in the rooms, every detail was wonderful. We traveled with another family and had 3 small children between us. and they went out of their way to make it special for us and our children. Suite 259 is a must weither traveling with children or no children. I cant wait to visit amsterdam again and stay at Suite 259.

I left my heart in Amsterdam and if I were to retrieve it, it would be at Suite 259. This establishment is more than I had ever hoped for of a B&B. The African themed décor is gorgeous, every single item in the Grand Sahara suite that I stayed in kept to this — from the tie-dye bed covers, bespoke furniture, printed carpets to the small animal figurines around the room. A desktop computer in the room grants guests free access to the internet while the fridge provides you with refreshments, also complimentary. I really liked the fact that there was a quaint garden right outside the living room which is great to bask in during the summer and good for hot chocolate in the winter. It’s so cosy that it takes a bit of effort to leave the room!

Location is great, its just mere minutes from commercial Amsterdam and a one minute walk from the park (right behind the B&B). This gives you the serenity that one needs during a city holiday; staying at Suite 259 gives you the best of both worlds. The local market and a popular shopping strip with the locals is about 7 minutes walk, here you will see how the locals shop at competitive prices. Homeward from local store Hema, random clothes stores that stocks fashionable outfits and quirky shops where keepsakes are easily available.

Apart from all the above, the reason why I enjoyed Suite 259 was the amazing hospitality we received from the owner Aziz Abdat. Also a Singaporean like me, he shared nostalgic tales of Singapore and his journey to Amsterdam (he has been here over 35 years and also runs a bridal boutique). Chatting to him is like spending time with an old friend. He cooks great gastronomical feasts in his kitchen and presents them well in his safari styled kitchen. There was never a dull moment with him. He took the time to show my husband and I around the area, shared great travel tips and went the extra mile by printing us maps to help us get around.

My Amsterdam experience would not have been this glorious had it not been for Suite 259. Personalised service, great rooms and mouth watering food is a definite. I would definitely recommend this to anyone after a truly enjoyable holiday. Two thumbs up!

have stayed at b and b's in many countries, but nothing like this--luxury-- duplex with a spiral staircase--tv upstairs and downstairs---computer with internet--refrigerator with free drinks--bathrooms upstairs and downstairs---exotic decor especially if you like giraffes--balinese furniture etc and etc

the best was peter and aziz who owned the place--they know their stuff and are very friendly ---aziz made the major league breakfasts complete with unusual dishes--among other things we had malaysian fish in curry sauce and scrambled eggs with shrimp--

the neighborhood supplied fine dining italian and then greek complete with live music

This is the most amazing bed and breakfast my wife and I have stayed at. I cannot describe the rooms adequately - they are stunning. The B&B, run by Peter and Aziz, has two rooms and we were upgraded to the suite. The other is by no means a 'downgrade'. Peter met us when we arrived and took us to our suite. Two floors with two full bathrooms. A bottle of wine (complementary) was waiting for us. Also, all of the water, soda, etc. in the fridge are complementary. There are no hidden charges. They also have a desktop computer in the room with high speed internet access, also free. Unfortunately during our stay my wife fell slightly ill. Aziz walked me to the nearest pharmacy, obtained medicine for her, and located the nearest doctor (this was a Saturday) if needed. He also checked on us later to make sure we were ok. We were able to enjoy breakfast - Aziz is an amazing cook. The food is incredible. Aziz also put fruit in our room while we were enjoying the city. When we come back to Amsterdam, we are definitely staying here!!

We stayed here in the Suite Safari a year ago while visiting our daughter. Coming in with jet lag from the US, we were able to check in early and have a wonderful rest before heading out to explore the city. But as others have mentioned, it is the special effort that Peter and Aziz go to that make this a unique experience. They invited our daughter to have their delicious breakfast with us. And when they heard we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary, they presented us with a beautiful cake. After a day of running around town, it was great to relax in the room and nibble on all the treats they provide and with a grocery store just a few blocks away, you can make your own food (there is a fridge and microwave) if you tire of dining out.
This is not the place for you if you cannot climb one flight of steep stairs, step into a high bathtub to bath, or deal with a tiny bit of street noise at night. But for us it was perfect!
