We stayed at Suite 259 in Amsterdam in January 2005. Suite 259 is an excellent place to stay while in Amsterdam. This charming bed-and-breakfast is within short walking distance of the center of the city. The city trains are right outside your door. It is also very close to many good restaurants. We stayed in the Suite Grand Sahara. It was very spacious and comfortable with upstairs and downstairs. The bed was very comfortable and the room had all the amenities of a first-class rate hotel including DVD player with free movies and a computer with 24 hour free access to the Internet. When we arrived at Suite 259 Peter was there to warmly greet us. Peter is a very gracious host. Peter is very professional in making your stay in Suite 259 enjoyable and pleasant. We really enjoyed the breakfasts by Aziz. They were unusual and delicious. If you want to have an excellent place to stay in Amsterdam we would only recommend Suite 259. If you stay here once you will always want to come back.

We loved our stay in Amsterdam! Every minute we spent in Suite 259 was memorable and absolutely perfect. The Grand Sahara Suite was wonderful, and we appreciated the warm hospitality from both Peter and Aziz. Not only were the ammenities fabulous, they indulged us with so many nice surprises: Delicious breakfasts (to die for), pleasant conversation, stocked fridge full of beverages, and yummy munchies throughout. Oh, did I mention fresh flowers and wine upon arrival?

We will cherish our time spent at Suite 259 and will always smile as we pass our fridge with our special magnets from our new friends. Bouquets of thanks!

3 days in wonderful Amsterdam were made even more wondeful by our stay at Suite 259 in Overtoom 259. Not only is the Grand Sahara suite made for lovers with its jacuzzi and African inspired decor, but the welcome by Peter and Aziz is what makes this place so special. Sweeping high ceilings over 3 real white doves in a turn of the century aviary and era bridal gowns hanging amongst sepia photographs make the reception a step back in time that makes you blink with disbelief.
The all-inclusive price becomes more and more reasonable when you find a stocked fridge, bottle of South African wine, fabulous coffee maker (have to get one !) no added taxes, stock of travel tip books, and ready advice on just where to eat and what to see. Not to mention a breakfast each morning that you will never forget ! Just a tram ride or a short walk from the centre of the city, amongst antique stores, restaurants and the real Amsterdam. What an experience !

I would highly recommend Suite 259 to anyone going to Amsterdam. We booked a short break for our parents last year, and after reading reviews on trip advisor, decided to opt for Suite 259. We couldn't have been more delighted with the choice, our parents had the best time ever and highly praised the suite, breakfasts and location. Peter and Aziz were so friendly and helpful and made our parents feel at home instantly. If we ever get the chance to go to Amsterdam in the future, I would definitely stay there.
