My husdband surprised me with this awesome accomodation to celebrate my birthday. Upon arriving at suite 259 I felt a wave of excitement, especially after meeting our gracious host, Peter, and our other host Aziz, chef extrodinaire. Climbing up the stairs to the first floor I had the overwhelming feeling that we were in for a great experience. Our room was fantastic: tastefully decorated in a safari theme. We had our own computer including high speed internet, a TV with DVD player and extensive movie collection. There was a nice bottle of wine, an assortment of fruit, coffee and teas, snacks and cookies. The luxury of fluffy down comforters, robes, slippers, stocked refigerator (juices and water) were so delightful.
Peter and Aziz, as mentioned before were full of surprises...like scrumptous (tradional Dutch) birthday cake for breakfast (with candles, of course) ...bus cards, to get around town...AND, here's the clincher...I mentioned that I wished I could go to an art exhibit of a favorite artist that had a show opening in a few days - but we would miss the exhibit since we would gone...there was a private preview showing for members only.
We were sitting in our wonderful room when we heard a knock from Aziz. He told us to get dressed we were going to the ball - well not quite the ball but Aziz managed the impossible - tickets to the private showing, along with press kit and information on the show. Wow, what an enjoyable evening, and what a fantastic few days in Amsterdam- thanks to two wonderful, kind, generous and cool guys who really know the meaning of hospitality.
