We just got back from a 2-week european trip. We stayed at suite 259 for 4 nights in september based on the great reviews and absolutely loved it! We got the tropical breakfast which consisted of a new yummy asian dish (rice, noodles, etc) and a special and fresh fruit salad. I still miss those breakfasts everyday! It's very nice to wake up in the morning and look forward to something new besides the usual breakfasts in hotels. The hosts Peter and Aziz were very considerate to ask if we had food restrictions, and also obliged with our request to have hard boiled eggs everyday for the baby as that is the only thing she is guaranteed to eat! That alone made our stay worthwhile, but there is more. The room itself and the service is amazing! Room was spotless, and had all the conveniences you can think of! My favorites are the freezer section in the fridge (for our baby's ice packs for milk--later on for frozen dinner we bought) which are rare in hotels, as well as free access to a computer in the room. Definitely very useful when we were jet-lagged or wanting to research trip info and not needing to go out of our room and line up and pay for using a computer. It was also great to have drinks in the fridge, snacks and fruits in our room for free! It was also great to have a microwave for us to heat up our food if we did not like to go out for dinner. The b&b is in a very nice area close to the center, walkable or very easy by tram--literally less than 5 minutes. The tram comes very often. It was great to be so close to the museums, and great restaurants! Much better than the ones in the center in quality and cost! A supermarket is a few blocks down so we can get milk for the baby, fruits she liked, etc easily. We were really happy to have been able to stay at this amsterdam house (which used to be an old canal house) and still have the luxuries of being in a hotel. We (even the baby) enjoyed the safari decor (life-size giraffes and other animals). If only I can find a similar place in every city, but if we ever go back to Amsterdam, we will be back! Peter and Aziz made our stay very special. Our baby was so happy staying there we felt sad to leave..Hopefully we can go back sometime soon!
