“A Wonderful time in Amsterdam”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2012

We were treated like royalty at Suite 259. We had a wonderful stay in Amsterdam which was greatly enhanced by the warm welcome we recieved from Peter, Eric and Aziz. As a former member of the Royal Household I couldn't fault the cleanliness and high standards in the Grand Sahara Suite. It was made extra special by the attention to detail such as the beautiful long stemmed roses in every room and the lovely plants on the roof terrace.

Aziz prepared a delicious breakfast every morning - especially the mini pancakes.

Thankyou for all of your help and recommendations - Pat.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Grand Sahara Suitet the back of the builing which as very peaceful.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend and was very happy that we found this place. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. Peter greeted us in and we felt at home. The suite had my favorite flowers, wine, and soft drinks. Loved how nice and cozy the suite was. Peter is a delight, very attentive and helpful. He even ironed my husband shirts in the morning. Aziz is a wonderful cook, every morning the breakfast was of restaurant quality and very filling!! We left this b&b happy and relaxed. We will be back whenever we are in Amsterdam again. Thank you Peter and Aziz from the Burnetts

Thankyou Peter, Aziz and Eric for your wonderful hospitality. You looked after my mother and I beautifully and made her 70th birthday celebrations so special. The flowers, cake and photograph were very much appreciated. I cannot recommend Suite 259 highly enough. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and well furnished. We stayed in the Grand Sahara suite and enjoyed the two bedrooms and bathrooms as well as the roof terrace.

The delicious and plentiful breakfasts prepared by Aziz were much enjoyed and set us up for the day (especially the tiny pancakes and syrup). The suite is well positioned near the tram stop for tram 1. Due to the position it is very quiet and good quality beds make for an excellent nights sleep. Peter's restaurant recommendations were great - especially the local Thai on Overtoom, reasonably prices and good food.

A well deserved reputation - like staying with old friends from the moment you arrive.

Room Tip: Grand Sahara suite is great if you are travelling as a family group or just want more space. As a co...

My mother and I accomodated in Grand Safari Suite for a long weekend. From the first minute we felt like home as we were warmly greated by Peter and Aziz. The room and amentities were beautiful, comfortable and thought to the very last detail. Location was perfect to us, 10-15 minutes walk to Van Gogh museum through the wonderful Vondelpark, 10-15 minutes ride by tram from the historical city center and walkable distance from all main places to visit. Breakfast was more than enough and tasty, plus they made us a special catering for the day we took the Grand Holland tour and could not have the breakfast in the place. Shortly: Peter, Aziz and there great B&B made our stay unforgettable and looking forward to visiting again Amsterdam and Suite259. Thank you, guys!

My husband, daughter and I enjoyed our second visit to Suite 259, and the Grand Sahara Suite - our first was 6 years ago. Suite 259 was as perfect as we recalled it to be, and Peter and Aziz were as wonderful as we remembered - warm, welcoming and very accommodating. Suite 259 is a near Vondelpark and an easy walk to the museums there. Otherwise hop on the tram and you will be in central Amsterdam in 5 minutes. Aziz makes the most delicious breakfasts - the perfect start to the day. Suite 259 is my home in Amsterdam, I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Room Tip: Grand Sahara suite is perfect for families.

Having stayed in various places in Amsterdam over the years, from B&B's in the Jordaan area to the Grand Krasnapolsky in the centre, for this visit we decided to stay at the recommended 'Suite259'. Ideally Situated near the Vondel park - a ten minute walk finds you in the heart of Leidesplein. As previously quoted on this site, Peter and Aziz are extremely hospitable and keep their accommodation to a very high standard. As well as the decor, we loved the extra space this type of accommodation afforded our family of 3, in the Grand Sahara Suite. A 2 floor suite that has a small suntrap of a rooftop garden. A spiral stair joins the main bedroom to the living / kitchen area, and both floors enjoy en suite facilities, with the downstairs having a great oversize bath!!
Fresh flowers, fruit basket ,bottle of wine ,snacks and soft drinks in the fridge were all included in the cost, and if there was anything else you needed, Peter and Aziz were always on hand to supply.
We will certainly return and in the mean time, fully recommend to our friends.

This is the perfect combination of Dutch and Singaporian hospitality and taste. Peter and Aziz really do the extra mileage to make you feel at home. The Grand Sahara suite proved perfect for our family, the boys could sleep upstairs, while we had another drink downstairs. Softdrinks and fruit waited for us in the room, a great cooked breakfast in Aziz' shop provided an excellent and unusual start into another day. We will certainly be back. Location is great, off the beaten track, but very close to excellent food and shops and to the museums.

Room Tip: Grand Sahara if you are more than 2
