“perhaps a best kept secret”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

entrance to a flight of stairs was unimposing but surprisingly led to an inviting reception area and friendly and helpful staff, obviously intent on providing a most pleasant experience. what a surprise was the excellence of the restaurant below. one of the best dinners Ive had anywhere. If in Amsterdam again, would book there, as well as recommend to friends

My boyfriend and I had a great stay at your hotel. It is in a great location, the room was cleaned every day and the service was good. The only thing that wasn't so good was the wifi. But we would defiantly stay again :)

As u all know Amsterdam is also known for its nightlife. The hotel location is close to rembrandtplein and leidesplein (nighlife aereas). Red light district is only very close. Rooms are small but clean. You also have an elevator. Would go back definitly.

Pleasant hotel in middle of city with handy transport connections. Very friendly staff - a good-humoured receptionist on my arrival. Comfy rooms, standard breakfast. Handy lift, suitable for disabled guests.

If you want a cheap, clean, centrally located hotel in Amsterdam then this should be considered.

Breakfast is toast with a choice of toppings or a yoghurt and orange juice/tea/coffee.. that's it. You get what you pay for i suppose!

The Doria is in absolutely the Best central location in the very heart of A'dam and the RLD. If you're looking for 5 star posh luxury, then move on and spend the big bucks elsewhere and be happy, but if you are looking for a Nice place to stay within simple walking distance to just about everything you've come to see in Amsterdam and don't feel like spending a small fortune, then Here is just the place for you! Whether you've come to see the flower market, Puccini's chocolate shop, the Queen's Palace or the saucy window women, it's All nearby. Something further away tempting you? The Rijksmuseum, maybe? Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum? The Anne Frank House? Jump on the tram and go-it's cheap, easy and takes you right there. Feel like taking a tour to, say, Belgium or out to see the Tulip fields and the Windmills? Maybe a night time canal cruise? The front desk will tell you exactly how to do it! Central Station is 10 minutes walk away and you can catch a train from there to anywhere in Europe and Beyond!
The rooms aren't huge-yes, they're rather small, and there isn't a whole lot in the way of pampered surroundings, but they are Clean, have Good Beds and Bathrooms and are safe and secure. You're not in A'dam to play in a motel, afterall- you're here to see a World famous city at it's best and for a price you won't have to mortgage your house over! In any direction that you choose to go, there are Superb restaurants, shops and pubs. So, buy yourself some Vlaamse frites and go sit down in one of the many side walk cafe's and watch the World go by! The sights, sounds and smells of Amsterdam are like nowhere else on Earth! Enjoy this amazing city and don't worry about feather bed mattresses and hot tubs-you can always find those at Home!
