“Don´t go to this hostel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2014

The manager was very rude with us, bad manners and lack of information. The breakfast is included in the price but you have to go to a neaby hotel in order to be served and when you arrive you see that it consists of only raw bread, peaut butter and coffer or tea. The rooms are ok, there is no towels for guests and the shower its in the same tile that the rest of the bathroom. The only thing I can recommend is the excellent service of the two irish guys that work there, otherwise like I was saying this hostel is a poor experience and should be avoided.

Room Tip: Don't talk with the manager, just talk with the Gareth or Connor

Had a great time during my stay! The staff was very helpful and friendly, and I couldn't have asked for a better location either. Right smack in the middle of things, most of which were within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again :)

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2014

We paid about 10 euros each for a 6 bed mixed dorm with en-suite on a Tuesday night in April. Very pleased with the price and we got lucky and had the room to ourselves (3 females).
Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the stay, 24hr reception is good. Everyone spoke perfect English (or were British/Irish) which was very handy.
Beds were clean. Room was a good size. En-suite was not that nice but fine for a hostel. Budget and basic.
They don't have a common area but you can use the one at the sister hostel just round the corner and get your breakfast there.
It is in a fab location, short walk from the middle of Amsterdam and plenty of places to eat/drink on the same street. The front door is locked and you recieve a card to open it (or buzz 24hr reception) so it feels nice and safe.
Word of warning when you are trying to find it, DO NOT be alarmed if you turn up at a door which looks all broken with squint blinds etc that is 147 and appears to be on the right street...you are at the wrong place. Apparently it is a common error (we made it also) and you have just ended up on the parallel street with virtually idential name.
Couldn't really complain about anything on this stay.

A very budget and basic hostel. Rooms where clean although they are very small and the receptionist was very informative and helpful. Location is great as it's close to everything you need. As with most hostels all you are paying is a bed for the night - if you want anything else stay in a hotel!
