“Nice hotel well located”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014

Just behind Rembrandt Sq special mention Amer on the front desk for being so helpful and accommodating. The room was huge and everything was in good working order. Recommend this place when you want to be central to the city. Beds were so comfortable! Water hot !

The hotel and rooms are very nice and clean 2.) the staff were very polite and friendly, gave good advices. 2.) Great location. Short travel by Tram to the central station, just a about 70meters to metro station really in de centre of amsterdam, the hotel is surrounded with a lot of restuarnt where we really enjoy or dinner.. the receptionist advise us to eat at one of the good restaurant just around the conner of the hotel.. it was really great place. normally living part of the city without tourists, lower prices in the restaurants. 3.) wifi free, all the time 4 above all we did loved our room and stay in this hotel.. surly we will be coming back.. Thanks to the staffs..

Room Tip: our rooms where very large with more spaces.... we had 3 rooms in total... 214, 215 and 207...

At our arrival time we found the apartment room to be in perfect condition with everything it was written on the web page provided. One of the best feature of this apartment is the stunning view over the canal and also the back terrace which is a perfect dinner spot. Also the staff was very kind with us and on top of this they cleaned the apartment in our absence even though we didn't ask for it. All together me and my friends had a very good time at the Amstelzicht hotel and we are all looking forward to visiting this place again.

Dear Matei,

Thank you for your comment on Trip Advisor. It was a pleasure to have you and your friends as a guest in Hotel Amstelzicht.

We thank you for expressing your compliments to our staff, we are very happy to work with them.

it's nice to read that the Apartment with canal view was to your expectation. (One bedroom with a double bed, in the living room 2 beds in an alcove, a full kitchen, bathroom, sitting area) An amazing view of the Canal and room 222 and 223 has a back terrace. Which is indeed a nice spot to have dinner especially in this beautiful season.

We are looking forward to welcome you in the near future.

Me and two friends had an excellent time at Hotel Amstelzicht. The apartment was clean and the view of the canal is beautiful. The hotel staff was very friendly to us and offered advise when ever we needed it. The location of the hotel is perfect. More or less everything is in walking distance and if we didn't feel like walking we were able to rent bikes from the hotel. Thanks a lot for a lovely time, we enjoyed the spacious apartment, a great scenery and very good service. We are looking forward to coming back to this place.

We have just arrived back from a fantastic 3 night stay in Amsterdam.. We arrived at our hotel late in the afternoon and although to start with we were a little disappointed that we didn't have a canal view we found our room very cozy. Plenty of room. Nice huge bed . Everything was very clean and nicely presented.. We found the location was perfect in every way.. We managed to walk to all the attractions we wanted to see. Anne Frank being the furthest being 20 min walk. The staff were very friendly. We loved the quirky narrow staircase to the first floor and the fact that the hotel leans to one side (which we didn't realise until we did a river cruise)
There are plenty of bars around and restaurants.. In fact spoilt for choice. Thoroughly recommend Mulligans Irish bar two doors away with live music and also friendly staff.
Over all I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.. Especially room 204..

Staying in Amsterdam for the first time, one is provided with a huge amount of options for hotels. After a considerable amount of research I decided upon the Hotel Amstelzicht and am very happy to have done so.

We had a room with a canal view and it was superb. Large, well appointed with nice tea and coffee facilities and a lovely bathroom. We were on the ground floor but be aware that there is no lift so rooms on the upper floors are via a small staircase.

Staff wee very friendly and very helpful and the location was perfect, nicely surrounded by bars, coffee shops and restaurants and only about 20 mins walk to the main attractions like the Anne Frank House.

My only grumble was that out double bed was actually two singles pushed together (and with single duvets) which frankly was horrible (they kept drifting apart in the night and by morning there was always a huge gap in the middle that you could actually slide into). Quite why such a lovely hotel as this doesn't have a proper double bed is beyond me.

That aside, I would highly recommend this hotel.
