“Ideal stay if you are wanting to explore Amsterdam”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

This hotel is in a fabulous location - everything you need is in short walking distance like the Central train station, restaurants, coffee shops, red light district, attractions etc.
The staff were friendly, approachable and helpful and they spoke really good English.
The breakfast was great and had a good selection or cereals, yoghurts, fruit, bread/ toast, eggs, cheese, ham, salami etc etc.
The only thing I can fault it on is for the space in the rooms and quality of the interior this hotel is on the pricey side!

Firstly this hotel in in a great location! 5 minutes’ walk from the train station and situated on "Green" Street and in a central location within walking distance from most tourist attractions.
The hotel itself is very outdated and the blankets with wolfs on them looked like they were from the 80's. The attic room was quite a trek to get too, the stairs were so steep it was like climbing a ladder. Overall if you just want a bed to sleep in and are not too fussed about a nice hotel then i would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Avoid the attic room!

It took me quite sometime to locate this hotel. I was just moving around the corner. In fact, the shopkeeper a few shops away from the hotel could not recollect the name. When I finally reached there, the receptionist was not around & had to wait for sometime till he was back. Once you check in, you need to get out of reception area & then move in through another entrance nearby. The room was so small that my suitcase appeared bigger in comparison !! There was nothing much but a small bed. The TV was quite outdated & had a few channels playing. The shared toilet was not clean. The breakfast was quite basic. I may not stay here again.

I arrived and was 'upgraded' to the hotel next door by the very friendly and helpful receptionist. The room was basic and apart from a few faulty lights, it was what I expected for the price I paid. The radiator was underneath the desk and the bed under a window so it was rather cold at night though. Breakfast was great.

Good hotel. The price was very affordable especially if you are visiting Amsterdam on a budget. The receptionist was very welcoming. The room was functional. Nothing special but plenty of room for the four of us. The hotel was located right beside the red light district close to everything. Free internet in the reception which was handy!
