We knew when we booked this that we weren't going to get the ultimate in luxury. We just wanted a room we could crash for the night which was close to our favourite pubs and restaurants and that's what we got. Just round the corner from Int Aepjen (great little pub) and almost next door to a lovely gin house. Check-in was very fast indeed and we never had any reason for complaint. The room was cleaned every day with fresh towels always supplied. The shower was great as well. We never tried the breakfast as we enjoy going to Bakkerswinkel on Zeedijk for breakfast. All in all it was perfect for us. The people who complain about being charged extra probably haven't read the small print regarding 5% city tax. We knew this before we went so it didn't come as a surprise.

Great hotel in the heart of Amsterdam, located about 5 min walking distance from Amsterdam centraal (main train station).
The staff at the hotel is very helpful and friendly.
It's a small hotel, simple hotel, in an old building. They have a small elevator that does the job( they have 4 floors) and very narrow staircases (not for everyone).
My room was a bit small, and there were stains on the bed covers.
I would recommend this hotel for young groups and solo travelers.
My stay was however overall ok.

I stayed in one of the apartments with friends 5 of us in total, beds were very comfortable, right in the centre and not too noisy. The apartment was rather clean but run down, tv reception was bad and breakfast was nice.

However even though there was a stove to cook on, there was no apartus to cook with, we kept asking if we could have a pot and were brushed off 3 times! We rented an apartment to cook pasta and stuff to make our trip cheaper and at 770 euros for 3 nights, I was not impressed!
