“Nice Boutique Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights during our first visit to Amsterdam. The hotel is located just outside of the main centre which for us was perfect - it was a quieter and cleaner neighbourhood yet a very easy walk in to sights and restaurants.
The hotel itself felt like a boutique hotel should - small, friendly, helpful staff and unique. We had a basic room on the ground floor. While I wouldn't call it spacious, we didn't feel particularly crammed either. The bed was comfortable and our stay was enjoyable.
(Breakfast was not included in our rate and we found the price to be high so we decided to forgo it and dine in town.)

I visit Amsterdam with a friend and we stayed at this hotel. The experience was really nice.

The room was comfortable, clean and quite. The hotel living room is cozy and as it was winter the fireplace was the best place to site and drink a glass of wine.

All the staff was great. Nice and friendly.

I do recommend.

Intimate hotel, very well situated for museums, shopping and dining. Fantastic breakfasts and really lovely bathroom. We stayed in an Executive suite...in the hotel guide it states that there is a desk but ours did not have that which was disappointing as we both had to work. The Executive rooms are really quite small but have everything you could need. The best part of the room is without doubt the bathroom and he breakfasts. You can walk anywhere from the hotel.

Top tips - buy tickets for Van Gogh museum from an outlet in advance, they don't cost more but you skip the queue. Make a visit to Supper Club, the entertainment is very very good, one of the best restaurant visits in terms of entertainment.

Hotel does not have fitness suite of swimming pool but I was unable to submit without filling in that part so please ignore

Room Tip: We had a basement room right on the front of the building, it was quite dark (Christmas so not as mu...

Very clean and nicely presented throughout. Awesome breakfast with continental bits, cereals, cooked English buffet and a la carte all included and on till 11.

Not sure on prices as used airmiles but think it was decent value. Also got upgraded to an executive room (no 20) but unsure what that entails as was not big by any stretch.

Then again, great location and not spending much time in the room so don't really need space for much. Bath was huge, big enough for 2 easy.

Very helpful with tram tickets, places to go and general advice. Great place to stay overall.

Christmas in Amsterdam for a family party so got to check out several rooms. All clean and modern without being achingly hip, all with swish bathrooms, big beds and sitting areas. Ours was a bit of a sliver but then we had a balcony to compensate. Public areas flexible and well-designed. Breakfasts absolutely fine of the continental plus a bit of hot food variety. If you're offered breakfast as part of a package, by all means take it. Ideal for visiting museums. A couple of good Indonesian restaurants close by if the weather is horrible (well, it was December). Good tram links. What made this place for us was the staff - not a hint of 'I don't really want to be here in the holidays' - just friendly, helpful, down to earth and really welcoming. Maybe that's the Dutch national character - or maybe the management has just got it right.

Great place to stay...good food, quiet rooms and finally a bed long enough to sleep in for a tall person like me. The hotel is located in a quiet street near V ook ndelpark and the city centre is only a step away.

Had nice spacious room at back, onto garden, on ground floor. I thought the furniture was oddly placed in the room and the round dining table between the bed and the bathroom was not only unnecessary but an obstruction. Good bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and shower plus a TV. The king size bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was good but the miserable size bowls for cereal or fruit were annoying. The decor is looking a bit shabby, for example the wall paper on the wall in the corridor was rather torn and the floor needs a coat of paint but it was clean. Staff were extremely helpful. It's a bit of a walk to the old centre of Amsterdam but close enough to the canal ring, and brilliant for Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum.
