The Hotel Brouwer is a small hotel in central Amsterdam, about a 5-10 minute walk to the train station. It is located in a historic building facing the canal.
We arrived in Amsterdam early in the morning, prior to check-in. The hotel let us store our bags there and fed us a delicious breakfast while we waited for our room to be cleaned. The breakfast room is perfectly-sized, and allowed us to meet the other guests staying in the hotel.
All of the rooms have a canal view. Since this is a central location, you will probably hear some noise from the people below or the scooters passing by. If that bothers you, bring some ear plugs or don't get a canal-facing room.
The room we stayed in was Breitner. It was quite large, clean, had a comfortable bed which smelled fresh like clean laundry. It had a bathroom in the room with toilet, sink and shower. It doesn't have air conditioning, but you can leave your windows open if you don't mind a little noise.
There is a free internet terminal there, which was great.
The hotel staff was extremely friendly.
It is located near everything...walking distance to the train station, Joordan district, Dam Square, Anne Frank House, even the red light district. The hotel is in a safe neighborhood.
Overall, I recommend that anyone stay here.
