Don't get me wrong, the hotel was very nice but I was disappointed. I was expecting so much more, especially for a 5*.
When we first arrived at the reception we booked in only to discovered they had booked us a non smoking, twin room. I had booked a double smoking room.
This problem was resolved. When we went into our room there was a towel on the bathroom floor to stop the water flooding the floor. Surely they should have built the doorway into the shower in such a way that they don't need to worry about using towels on the floor.
There were no drawers in the room either meaning we practically lived out of our suitcases the whole time we were there. There was a cupboard to hang up your shirts etc but that was it.
The rooms were very small as well.
The day before we were due to check out we received a phone call asking when we would be checking out??? I went down to the reception to inform them I was booked in for another night. We went out that evening only to return to find they had cancelled both our room keys.
We stressed our disappointment to the reception and they offered us a free breakfast on the day we were leaving. (breakfast is €22.50 a head, I don't think it was worth that, I recommend you head out and see the restaurants of Amsterdam than eating in the hotel).
Don't get me wrong, staff were very pleasant but I expected so much more for a 5 *.

I just can't say enough nice things about this hotel. Even though it is currently under construction, it was still one of the best hotels I have every stayed at. The rooms were comfortable and modern, the bathrooms were fantastic with excellent water pressure. I can't say enough nice things about the staff - friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, accommodating, etc. Breakfast buffet also over and above my expectations! Location was great, just a few blocks from the museums and Vondelpark plus Leidesplein where you can catch a tram to anywhere else in the city! I would stay here again in a second, highly recommended!

Didn't mean that literally. Location is unbeatable, all the charm and elegance of Amsterdam, without the seedy part. Rates are reasonable. Hotel is very modern, which can feel a bit cold, but location and price make it a top contender.

My boyfriend and I just went to Amsterdam in December, and we stayed at the NH Amerstdam Centre. I was very impressed. Although the rooms were smaller, they were very nice and cozy. The bathroom was very nice, and the water pressure in the shower was great. Loved having windows you could open. Great location, a three minute walk to the Bulldog Coffee Shop in Leidesplein. Mini-bar, although a little expensive, was VERY useful. Everyone was extremely helpful. Would recommend to everyone!
