“Was better in the past”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2014

We have stayed here before and loved it. This time it was loud as we faced the preschool and we were next to the front desk, although we did request a quiet room. Although the preschool does not open until about 9:30 AM, which is good. A repair or two was needed and furniture was rather beat up and old. However, the guy at the front desk during the week was wonderful and so helpful. He helped us a lot and even let us do our laundry. The location is, as always, incredible. We most likely will stay here again, but will ask for a room higher up to make the price of the hotel worth it, as it is now more expensive than it used to be. I think the hotel is more for backpackers than for couples, but we still liked it for the most part. Free wifi.

Room Tip: Choose a room higher up, perhaps not facing the preschool. Although the preschool does not open unti...

Great value for the money (60 €), the athic is a good option for those that do not matter about climbing three floors through narrow stairs.

The athic is nice, big and well equiped (fridge, mirror, hair dryer). In the morning the courtains can not hold the sunlight, that becomes disturbing.

It is 20-25 minute walking from the city center, but you have a tram stop next to the hotel.

The recepcionist was very nice. There is wifi and you can leave the luggage the last day if needed.

Room Tip: We stay in the athic, it worths if you are fit.

The services provided by all 3 different person at the reception are good.
Location is very near to tram but far (for walking) from popular places especially nightlife.
Rooms are noisy due to the trams. Clean and free wifi provided.

Stayed mid june, in the attic room. Very basic room but served me well. Very steep stair but its the norm for amsterdam. Hotel overall cleanliness was excellent. The vending machines were a life saver. There are some smoking rooms available, which is becoming harder to find. Located opposite the zoo! which is definitely worth a visit. The surrounding area is very pleasant. Will definitely stay again.

Very good. We arrived very late, but the woker was waiting for us .
The woker was very kind. He told me that even after the next day when we checked out they could also keep our suitcase until 11pm.
The room is clean, quiet and confortable with a very big bathroom.

We enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam very much with a big part of that being where we stayed. It was perfect location, homely cosy and the actual building was very cool. We couldn't of asked for better :) Also Rob the receptionist - very nice and helpful!
