Owner description: Located in a passageway between the Kalverstraat and the Begijnhof it is possible to admire 15 substantial paintings. These are portraits of the Amsterdam Civic Guards from the 17th Century. Part of, though not actually in, the Amsterdam Historic Museum, this is probably the only place in the world where paintings are displayed in he open air, with only a glass roof to protect them.
