“You must do this at least once in your life!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

Taking this canal tour (and there are many) but taking this one I felt like I was actually doing something that everyone should do once in their lives. I'm in international sales so I travel a lot for my job and have seen some beautiful things...this ranks right up there with the widest avenue in Buenos Aires, flying over the Andes Mountains and the seeing rainforest in Costa Rica. Really, you have to see it to believe it for all it's beauty.

“Amsterdam's Personality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

It doesn't matter which canal you're looking at, they all look the same.
But have a look at the map: they are Amsterdam's "designers"! You'll never get lost if you manage to organize yourself around them.
The canals (from outside to inside: Lord's Canal, Emperor's Canal and Prince's Canal) define the city, and it's actually pretty funny how they're named according to an hierarchy...
If you're not walking around Amsterdam with blindfolds, you'll see them all eventually.

“Real amsterdam”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Actually, all the main canals, Hernegracht, Keizersgracht & Prinsengracht are beatiful. Walk anticlockwise from the station end. Cross and re-cross the bridges and wind around, look up to the gabled ends of the buildings. This is Amsterdam at its best. You will find fine houses, strange houseboats, beautiful churches, cats on doorsteps, small cafes, but few shops. Watch out for bicycles - they don't like pedestrians.

“Very interesting to see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

We travelled along this canal as part of a canal boat tour during the day time, the whilst having dinner in another canal boat in the evening. The different light was well worth the second trip.

“beautiful memory”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2012

The canal tour was one of memorable experience in Netherlands.
We were lucky that we had great weather (no raining at all). its so nice to see old building and houses around. It was beautiful to know the history via guided tour.
