We have just got back from Amsterdam after staying at Hotel Y Boulevard. After booking we checked this site to find horrible reviews. Needless to say we considered cancelling the rooms. Limited choice made us stick with the hotel and I am glad we did.

There was a group of 6 of us and none of us have any complaints about the hotel. The rooms were clean, dry and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location was perfect for the whole city.

We had a brilliant time and I will definiately recommend this hotel to other people in the future.

Having read the reviews was expecting the worst, but was pleasantly surprise, our room looked out over the harbour and was clean and warm. The staff where great, and the breakfast plentiful. Good location,could have done with tea and coffee making facilities.But I,ve paid a lot more to stay in worse places,

Stayed here during congress week for a weekend in september 2005 the place is an absolute dive we were given a basement room which was absolutely humming of damp so bad that we kept extractor fan in the bathroom on whilst we were out but to no avail!!! the carpet in the room was so dirty you actually stuck to it!!!

hello!!!! just got back yesterday from this hotel, stayed there with my gfriend last wed - sat and having read the reviews on here which i feel are harsh!

so thought id add what i thought!!! basically the location was good - opposite the floating chinese restaurant (the food there is great), and the nemo museum (which again is wicked fun), and a short walking distant from everything.

Ive given it 4 stars based on the fact that our room was clean, not small, we had hot water all the time, it didnt smell, the sheets were clean, we had fresh towels everyday, and cable tv with 30 channels.....although we dont speak dutch but we had bbc1 and 2!!so i got to c motd!we were on the top floor and it was 3 flights of steep stairs but all buildings in amsterdam are like this!!!! the bed was very comfy and next door unintentionally entertained us on the first might as the walls were thin....er...

the breakfast was ok - juice / tea and coffee and toast, croissants, cereal , meat,cheese etc so not bad!who doesnt like toast!!

the food we had (pizza) from the restaurant was freshly made/cooked and delicious!and the bar was reasonable.

so in conclusion good value. amsterdam isnt cheap but the staff were very friendly and helpful! the place is nicely decorated and we had a good time!
