This hotel was a typical Amsterdam budget hotel. Very steep narrow stairs, no elevator (which isn't a problem if you have few or small bags), small but clean room, and very friendly and accommodating staff. I booked a single room for 5 nites, and I had no complaints except for the people I had to share a bathroom with (next time I would be sure to get a private bathroom). Breakfast was good and consisted of toast, various spreads, cereal, cheese, deli meats, hard-boiled eggs, and coffee and orange juice. Reception, open until 11 pm, also had beverages and snacks available to purchase. There were several families, couples, and small groups of friends, as well as single travelers also staying in the hotel, so as long as you aren't incredibly picky, you will enjoy your stay just fine. You could definitley hear nite-noise, but it wasn't too bad for a major city. There was a laptop computer free to guests to use for 30 minutes at a time. Also, the location can't be beat--right around the corner from the Leidseplein, a major center of shops, restaurants, and the famed nightclub, Boom Chicago. Within walking distance of museums and almost everything, but I would probably take public transportation if getting there from Central Station. There is also a shuttle bus to the airport that stops just around the corner. Great budget stay!
