“Great friendly place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

Lovely friendly hotel, decided to stay here after reading the other reviews and we weren't disappointed. If you are coming from the airport then you can get off the airport bus at the Leidseplein stop, the hotel is just a few minutes walk from this lively area. The check in girl was super nice and answered any questions. There was only 2 of us but we got a triple room which was nice, extra space. The bathroom was small but everything was fine, the place was clean and I would definitely stay here again. Breakfast was lovely and fresh and the room was bright and sunny. Wifi worked great. The owner is really nice and has all the information you need.

Tha hotel was excelent. The staff couldn't be nicer. Location was ok, near rookies and mellow yellow. The room was super clean. The breakfast was great, could not be compared with a hostel breakfast. Just to good. I'm a money savy person, and this hotel was one of the best choices I've made. In a few words a lot morw than you paid for. Room tv w/ cable, great breakfast, super clean, best staff ever, bottom line I assure you, you will be EXTREMELY PLEASED.

Based on tripadvisor reviews, I booked one of the single rooms with shared bathroom for a short (2 night) stay - and the hotel certainly lived up to its great reputation! It is excellent value for money. Very friendly and helpful staff, a comfortable room (room on the basement level, a nice quiet sleep), a lovely breakfast, and a conveninent location which is easy walking distance to attractions and close to the 1, 2, 5 tram lines for easy access to central station. I would definitely stay here again when I next visit amsterdam.

We stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we enjoyed seeing the cat Mimi. The location was perfect, right in the middle of all the action but still had a wonderful night's sleep.

Room Tip: Stairs are very steep, if you don't fancy a big walk up take rooms on the lower floors!

Stayed here for 2 nights in early February. At around €130 I've got no complaints at all. Room was small, but clean and perfectly equipped and the location was fantastic. Helpful staff and decent breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

PROS: The hotel is simple but really cosy. The location couldn't be better: next to Leidsplein, one of the restaurants/bars spots in town. The breakfast is basic but really good! The croissants are a must! The room has hairdryer, which is a plus. The service is TOP!! Would definitely go back!
CONS: The crazy stairs!!! The hotel only has 18 rooms and, with our bad luck, we got 1 room on the 3rd and another on the 4th (and last) floor. The stairs makes you give up on going back to your room after breakfast to pick up something you left: you know what I mean? lol Sooo, be careful not to bring a large suitcase, as it can be dificult for you alone to "climb" up to your room :)

We received a very warming welcome when our party arrived at the hotel slightly before noon on our check in day. It was no trouble at all for them to hold our bags and they gave us a map and marked several key spots. Great location too not far from the 1,2, and 5 tram stops. Normal size room and private bathroom.

Very welcoming and very helpful. They have a free breakfast in the morning although only took advantage of the coffee and water. They sell beer in the lobby which is awesome. They have the local fare of Heinekein for 2 Euros and whats known as the 7 Deadly Sins craft collection that is local as well for 3 Euros a bottle. Unbelievable. Great place to have a drink before heading out! Wanted to stay there again on our way back in town but unfortunately they were booked. They were even kind enough to print out the train schedule to Paris as we were heading there the next day. Can't say enough good stuff about the friendly staff! Only thing is I wish they had an elevator!

Room Tip: Great beers to try in the lobby for 2 and 3 euros!
