the very first thing i do is check for cleanliness-- it is a top priority, more than location, cost, decoration, etc. this is a very clean bed & breakfast. the bonus of course is that it is lovely and very special nice views in the canal :pity we didnt meet carlos because he was on holiday but alvin was there, when we arrive he gave us a map and good tip very helpful..the blue guide book in the room was very helpful for evrything you need, you feel like this is your home away from home.

cannot thank alvin enough for his kindness and consideration throughout our stay... and we stayed for quite awhile.



we stayed in the "RED TULIP ROOM" room,with a wonderful flowers on the table and my girlfriend was very happy about it.

Stayed at the Oude Wall apartment for our last 2 nights of a 2 week trip to Europe. It was soooo nice to relax in this apartment. Very clean and neat. Nice view of a quiet canal, balcony out back, great location 10 min walk to the train station.

It is a long haul with luggage from where you get the key to the apartment. Took a tram and still had to walk a bunch.

Our stay at Sunhead of 1617 was wonderful. It was in a beautiful area close to all the city attractions. Our hosts were friendly and made us feel right at home. The breakfast was one of the best we ever had.

We stayed at the Jacob van Lennep B&B, which although a little too cluttered, was comfortable and the pre-packed breakfasts generous. What spoilt the experience was the attitude of Carlos when we picked up the key. We found him to be patronising, condescending and clearly in a hurry to be elsewhere even though we arrived 'early afternoon' as had been advised. In a 2 month European trip staying in 6 apartments, this was the only one where the owner did not greet us at the location to go through everything with us. What a difference it would have made.
