“True Amsterdam”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2005

"Sunhead" will give you the true feel of Amsterdam. My girlfriend and I recently stayed there and we loved it. The Red room is very romantic, the view was stunning and the breakfast was absolutely FANTASTIC!! Carlos was very cool and the place was super clean. The only considerations would be that the steps are very steep and the shower head in the red room can be low for someone over 6 feet tall (me). The stay was great!!

I stayed in a large apartment on Herengracht in November 2004 with 4 girlfriends. Carlos was very helpful when we told him the heating wasn't working properlyand someone came to look at the problem that day. It was so much nicer than a hotel because we could please ourselves. We stayed 4 nights in the perfect location near the flower market. We chilled big time and would stay there again if they would have us ( I don't think the neighbours could complain about us laughing too much!!)

My wife and I just returned from this romantic bed and breakfast. The hosts (including the cat, Binky) are great. The B&B has a canal boat just outside the door. Be sure to ask Roelf for a personalized canal boat tour. It costs an extra 45 euro for the the trip, but it is well worth the price. Roelf knows the canals and you see more than on any tourist boat. If you can manage the narrow, steep stairs to the third floor, I recommend the red room overlooking the canal. Very romantic and relaxing. Don't miss the chance to experience the true old Amsterdam.
