Our trip to Amsterdam was simply perfect having stayed at Carlos and Rolfs wonderful bed and breakfast.

But really this was far more than bed and breakfast. Our hosts went out of their way to help us with everything a trip to a new city entails, including Rolf taking us on a boat trip on our last morning.

We stayed in the Red Tulip room which is at the top of traditional windy stairs in the eaves of the Sunhead overlooking the Herengraght canal. We found it to be the perfect setting for a myself, a newly pregnant woman and my boyfriend! It was quiet, extremely comfy, very relaxing and with the most divine views. Coming from hectic and noisy London, it was the perfect chill out zone.

Carlos cooked us a gorgeous breakfast every morning which included a fruit salad and yogurt which was so good we have been trying to emulate it at home (unfortunately not to the standard Carlos got us used to!). Endless tea and coffee ensued along with a choice of delicious home made jams to go on your hot rolls. All served in company of the house cat, The Queen.

Perfect hosts, delightful rooms, idyllic views all made for the most gorgeous holiday.

I would hightly recommend staying at the Sunhead for your trip. i cannot wait to go again - perhaps next time without baby bump!

We spent the weekend in Amsterdam and had a great time experiencing all the best things about the city, and staying at Sunhead helped to make it even more special. Its on a beautifully picturesque road in Amsterdam alongside the canal and comfortable walking distance from wherever we wanted to go, even getting to and from the train station. As a couple hoping to enjoy a relaxing romantic weekend away it was ideal. We stayed in the Yellow room, which was gorgeous. The bed was so comfortable it was hard to get out of it in the morning, however Carlos prepares a delicious breakfast and this was great motivation to get up and going! I will remember Sunhead for its unique-ness, and thank you to Carlos for being such a friendly, welcoming host. I definitely recommend this b&b for comfort and attractiveness.

My husband and I stayed at Sunhead for 3 nights and we loved it. Carlos and Rouef are fantastic hosts, breakfast is delicious and fresh, the room is nice and very clean, coffee and tea facilities. Carlos even gave us a bottle of wine because we were in a honey moon trip and Rouef took us on a lovely boat tour around the canals. All this just to please their guests! The place is also very charming and very well situated.
Thanks for our wonderful stay and will definitely be coming back to Amsterdam and that's the place to stay!

We stayed in the Sunflower apartment, which had wonderful views of Herengracht canal. It was a 5min stroll from Dam Square, the pretty and very relaxing artists area 'Jordaan' and Ann Franks House. A perfect location with the most hospitable, friendly and humerous host 'Carlos' who served a delicious breakfast and really looked after us with his recommendations. It was quiet at night, which ensured a comfy nights sleep in the double bed in the tastefully decorated bedroom. The accomodation is immaculate and extremely well presented - when we arrived tourists were possing for photographs outside! Michelin Guide recommended - and I would highly recommend Sunhead of 1617 and would return in the future if ever we're in Amsterdam.

Perfect beginning for our recent trip. Location, location, location. Canal location. Nice walks to everything we were interested in doing! Perfect host! Extraordinary breakfast in gleaming, artistic area of restored home. Had the chance to experience two lovely rooms and while we prefered the Red Tulip we also enjoyed the Yellow Narcissus. Wonderful suggestions from our host as to where to dine. Cannot think of anything to change!
