To spend the best weekend in Amsterdam means you have to stay in the coziest Bed & Breakfast in the Canal Areas to fully imbibe the Dutch way of livingÜ

Sunhead of 1617 is the perfect choice if you want to stay in the heart of Amsterdam ~ easy access to the city, perfect view of the canals, cozy rooms and of course, the most gracious hosts (the owners will be there to personally see that you enjoy your stay). And with its reasonably priced rooms, you can't go wrong should you choose Sunhead of 1617Ü

No doubt, staying at Sunhead will be the best decision of your Amsterdam TripÜ

I would like to thank Mr. Carlos Cecilio and Mr. Rufian, owners of the B&B for making my trip to Amsterdam unforgettableÜ

A weekend break staying Bed & Breakfast at Sunhead proved very enjoyable. The narrow stairs were worth the climb to stay in the Tulip room which was spacious clean and comfortable and had a lovely view overlooking the canal.Breakfast was very good ,dining room small but cosy and relaxed.Carlos very freindly and offered good advice on sightseeing around the area and also offererd internet booking to avoids queue's (useful when trying to visit so many places)...would deffinately go back again

Sunhead of 1617, Amsterdam. April 2008. Jane, Oxford, U.K.
This bed and breakfast is just about perfect. I stayed there with my daughter, who travels widely for her work and stays in expensive hotels all over the world, and we agreed that we couldn`t have done better with our accommodation. The position on the lovely Herengracht Canal is central and convenient for visiting the major attractions of Amsterdam, and is a lovely area to walk around itself. The Sunhead is a beautiful tall Dutch canal house, and we were lucky to be in a tastefully furnished apartment with views over the canal. We had everything we could need there, space , views, comfortable furniture, quiet and ready access to the city. We loved the breakfasts, sharing a table with two other guests in a friendly atmosphere , and enjoying good food, the jams are outstanding! We really couldn`t have wanted any more, it made our short stay even better to be going back to such a lovely place each evening. I only hope that by saying all this the Sunhead is not full when we want to go back, because it would be hard to stay anywhere else now.

Amsterdam is a city where experience is everything. Even with its beautiful winding canals, if you pick the wrong neighborhood and place of stay it can really ruin your time there. At the Sunhead, you have it all.

Amazing location, wonderful hosts and as many before have mentioned the experience in living in one of Amsterdam's typical architectural offerings. I say "live", because it's a bit like coming home.

Cozy rooms (cozy not meant to be jargon for small), stairs that could give you vertigo, but again are all part of the experience, and a gracious host who greets you each morning with warm coffee and a breakfast that prepares you to hit the streets of Amsterdam on a full stomach. My husband and I had the fortune of a wonderful dinner the first night courtesy of Carlos's recommendation, a place we would have never found on our own. Don't make the mistake of staying in a big hotel in Amsterdam. Live like a local and stay here. You won't regret it.

We had visited Amsterdam in 2007 and really fell in love with the place, but found the hotel we stayed in very expensive for the service offered. I found Sunhead on Trip Advisor, and as the reviews and price sounded so good, went ahead and booked. And thank goodness we did! It is a really lovely B&B and I promise you would not be disapointed.

The location is really ideal as it is only about 5 minutes walk from Dam Square, and about 10 minutes walk to Central Station, but it is quiet and you feel like you're away from the whole tourist side of the city. You really have the best of both worlds. The B&B is spotlessly clean and most comfortable. We had the apartment on the first floor, which comprised of living/ dining room with kitchen overlooking the canal, bathroom and double bedroom. As previously mentioned, the breakfast is really lovely and cooked freshly for you when you arrive at the table. We have stayed in many hotels/B&B's throughout Europe and it was so nice to stay somewhere that offered such wonderful fresh food.

The owners are most helpful and will answer any questions you may have, and you really do get great value for money.

We are hoping to go back to Amsterdam later this year or early next year, and really hope Sunhead is available! In fact, we would make sure they are before we book our flights, as we would not want to stay anywhere else now! Enjoy!
