Maes Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful place to call home when you are in Amsterdam. It is located on a side street between two canals. Walking distance from the tram stop (just 10 minute walk form the central train station) Great breakfasts, comfortable beds and very friendly owners. Vlad and Ken are very kind and very helpful guiding us with things to do and great suggestions for food.
We stayed 3 nights with our family. I hope to return to amsterdam in the future and will stay at the Maes again!

We stayed at Maes for 3 wonderful nights in Amsterdam and could not fault a thing. The room we had was extremely clean with plenty of personal and welcoming touches, the breakfast spread was amazing but most of all the welcome was warm. Vlad was friendly, polite and efficient, a taxi was arranged for us from the airport and Vlad was there to greet us on arrival even though it was quite late. We received plenty of local knowledge on transport and suggestions for sightseeing and eateries. Maes was within walking distance of everywhere and a good mix of quiet location but with a buzz not far away. The B&B was in a traditional Dutch building so you got an idea of how the locals live, however Vlad and Ken have decorated them in a style that is top notch, we shared an amazingly well stocked kitchen with other rooms in the house and even had a lovely roof terrace for us smokers! Ours was a standard double room which we found superior to many places we've stayed in Europe, if we get a chance to go back we will definately try the deluxe suite with jacuzzi, given the level of accommodation in a standard room the deluxe suites must be really decadent. My wife and I stayed at Maes B&B for three days in late April, 2008. We loved it. We stayed there as a means of winding down from a 7-day Rhine River cruise. Our stay was a beautiful way to end our first visit to Europe, especially, since we enjoyed the peak of the tulip blooming season. Our hosts, Jason, Vlad, and Ken, were friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable, and large. The B&B is in a very convenient part of Amsterdam – in easy walking distance of the most of Amsterdam’s attractions and transportation facilities. Jason served delicious breakfasts every morning. The interesting conversations and people we met at breakfast were an added bonus. Our stay at Maes B&B was all that we expected – and more! I am sure that if ever we visit Amsterdam again, we will check for availability at Maes. Jason, Vlad, and Ken, thanks for a wonderful visit!

What can I say? This place was awesome! Ken and Vlad have it figured out. They are wonderul people with an equally wonderul B&B. Clean, neat, decorated superbly and with attention to details. Breakfast was great, dig those pancakes! Easily walkable from Central Station with easy connection to the airport. We had our best meal here, a suggestion from Ken. Super comfy room, I wanted to snuggle up in it all day. The only place we stayed that had internet, yeah! They've thought of everything. The Anne Frank House is very close, 5-10min walk maybe. Catch a trolley to the museum quarter though. All in all, well above our expectations!
