we spent a lovely few days with vlad this summer. Our first trip to Amsterdam was most definitely the better for our fantastic hosts. We got advice on places to visit and service was above and beyond the call of duty. I would be delighted to recommend Maes to anybody.

WOW!!We could not be happier. The location of the B&B was perfect. Away from the hustle and bustle, but just a few steps away if you wanted it. Ken and Vlad made our stay perfect. They were so helpful and informative. Our room was spotless, never ran out of hot water, and breakfast was ample. Pressed coffee, juice, ham, cheeze, bakery goods. YUMM-wish we were back. We had our own bathroom. We were in the red room in the front of the house. King size bed and a view of the street to watch all the people. We wanted to pack Ken and Vlad up and take them home with us. You can't go wrong with this choice for lodging. Hope you can enjoy it all as much as we did!

We just returned from a fabulous trip to Amsterdam, made all the more so by Ken & Vlad's amazing little bed and breakfast. We were greeted with faultless hospitality that immediately made us feel welcome, and this feeling was only enhanced by our absolutely charming room, the top-floor Anne Frank Suite. The breakfasts leave nothing to be desired, and the location could not be better. We would recommend that anyone going to Amsterdam spend at least a couple of days at Maes. You won't regret it.

My mom and I spent 5 nights in Maes B&B in early November. I was traveling for work and needed a central location that would allow my mom to sightsee during the times I was away, and I wanted a place where she could ask someone for directions or recommendations without being 'one of the masses' in a 200-room hotel. Ken and Vlad provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere and the opportunity to see the (nicely refinished, modernized) interior of an old Amsterdam house. Breakfast was lovely, the bed was comfortable, and the ensuite bath was a plus. While the room we stayed in at the front of the house is a bit noisy, I am happy to report that Ken and Vlad will be installing new double-paned windows in the near future and this will undoubtedly help. However, I enjoyed being able to watch the activity in the shops on the street below, and since the B&B is on a small one-way street, it does quiet down in the evening so one can sleep easily. If I travel to Amsterdam in the future, I will plan to stay here again. It is an outstanding value for the location, and the hospitality couldn't be better.
