me and my partner have been in amsterdam last week on holiday.
we have come all the way from ireland, we booked the manofa hotel on the internet it looked great on the pic's, but when we arived it was a diff story it was disgustng,
no outher word could decribe it, when we got to the door i new at that point it was a low run down disgusting place, the dirt was caked on to the stairs we arived at half 11 and we had to wait around till half 1 just to see the room.
when we opend the door of the room i near cryed it was awful there was a horible smell and the floor was coverd in dust, the bathroom had white tile's that had turnd gray with the dirt and they where all broke it is a health hazzard.
we got are suitcases and left not in a millon years would i have stayed there, you could not even see out the window's with the dirt and the reception desk was falling to pieces.
it need's to be closed down and very quick i would never in a millon years reconmend this shak of a place to anyone i would not even call it a hotel.
we then got a room in the van gelder hotel and it was luzary compared to the manofa.
the van gelder hotel was old and had antiqe furniture but it was very clean and i felt really safe there.

i am not a fussy person and am ok with cheap and cheerful but this was neither!
i have travelled a lot and have never stayed in a dump such as this, i was lying in bed one night and felt something under the sheet, i pulled it back and there was a mouse in the bed, when i complained the guy on reception was neither shocked or concerned and we were given another room, it was our last night so it was not worth moving to a different hotel, however when we moved to the other room we were awoken by two guests entering our room so back to reception to complain and lo and behold new guy on reception had not been told we were moved to another room so activated a card for the new guests, also the alarm call message had not been passed on.
this rodent infested dump charged us 95 euro per night for this torture but hopefully by writing this review they will have fewer guests to put through this and this place is closed.
Oh i forgot to mention that the fire sprinkler was covered in a plastic bag.
they also had signs warning patrons not to bring food to the rooms and i found out why!
dont go there its awful!

Disgusting place. When looking for hotels in the past I have used this site and I have read reviews and have seen that people have made comments about hotels being unclean and then you turn up and they are fine.. do not be fooled this is not the case with Hotel Manofa, the place is a health hazard and needs to be closed. The pictures that are advertised show a clean and basic room, the reality is a crack den! The hotel manager is rude and has obviously dealt with so many complaints in his time that he has a set routine of what to say. Do not stay here when there are so many better hotels/ hostels that you could stay in in Amsterdam- save yourself the time and effort of having to look for another hotel when you arrive!

This hotel wasin a prime location only 2 minuets from central station and only 2 minuets from most of amsterdams attractions. I read many reviews on this hotel before i booked it and was a bit sceptical at first but booked it anyway. The price was very reasanoble and was in prime location for 6 lads wanting to party. The rooms were generally clean and adequate for what we wanted, Just somewhere to sleep,wash and change. Would certaily use this hotel again.
