Delightful staff, wonderful restaurants and all done with no fuss. The location is perfect for those looking to experience the galleries and good shopping in Amsterdam. We spent three nights there and will definitely return.
The spa, pool and gym facilities are extremely well appointed.
We will most definitely return.

We decided to book this Hotel for our first ever visit to Amsterdam and boy did we hit a home run (pardon the American idiom), the location for us was perfect, steps from all the mayor museums including Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum (recently opened after a 10 year renovation), with 2 tram stations right in front of the Hotel, 10 minutes away from where ever you want to go in central Amsterdam. The rooms are amazing, very contemporary, the bathroom is big and everything in it is private. The architecture is simply outstanding, breakfast was included and it was awesome and served until 11:00 every single day, free and fast Wi-Fi, water for the room is deliver daily, everybody from the manager to the bus boy or girl are delightful, the Bar/Lounge was incredible and very happening, I can go on and on but you get the point, we are definitely coming back to our new favorite European city and there is no way we are staying anywhere else.

Enjoyed a wonderful weekend at the Conservatorium Hotel start to finish. From the warm and personal (!) welcome of the doormen to a dinner at Taiko that exceeded our expectations, and a relaxing Sunday breakfast in the Brasserie (Old Amsterdam omelette with asparagus is to die for). Staff was extremely warm, welcoming and attentive allround - great to experience such hospitality in our own city! The extensive facilities of the hotel (shopping, spa, bar etc), marvelous public areas and exquisite design make it tempting to stay in all weekend - however we did step out to explore the wonderful local area (shopping, park) and the Rijksmuseum at 5min walking distance. A relaxing treatment in Akasha spa completed the perfect weekend away in our own town. Highly recommendable to stay here for any special occasion (I Love Amsterdam Suite is one of a kind!) or just to get away from it all - We hope to be back!

Room Tip: The I Love Amsterdam Suite is the one to go for for any special occasion (three floors, huge bath wi...

The Conservatorium Hotel is located adjacent to Amsterdam Museum Plein area. Walking distance to all the major museums. Prior to becoming a hotel a few years ago, the building was home to the Amsterdam Conservatorium, hence the hotel name. The room was spacious and modern, with all the amenities needed. The design is nice, modern, and functional. The service and staff were great. This is a well run and managed boutique hotel. Will definitely recommend.

The building is stunning. It was built at the end of the nineteenth century as a bank (wonderful art-deco friezes of piggy banks on the ceramic wall tiles) and later became a music school (hence its name 'Conservatorium' and the interesting installation of violins as you enter the modern design-style lobby and reception area). It has all clearly been lovingly restored and renewed.
The lobby and reception are spacious indeed and flanked on the right as you enter by a Brasserie. All is light and quite handsomely done.
We found the check-in relatively efficient but rather cavalier as well (given the prices of the hotel); it seemed to us there were too many trainees, not quite up to the job yet.
Our room was fine. It had a pleasant living room and (see photos) a bedroom on an entresol reached by an easy to navigate stairway. Two bathrooms, one upstairs, one downstairs. Everything you might want with fine amenities. Too bad the washing sink couldn't be 'plugged' - a design that has a trough-style instead of a stoppable run-off; so you couldn't draw water for a good hand-wash. Very good sound-proof windows and excellent light-occluding drapes. The couch was rather too low to get up out of if you have back problems. We found the doors to the bathrooms very heavy to open and close (a real problem if you have rheumatism).
There was a good working table; but we'd have liked to have had a little coffee table next to the couch. Not enough room in the fridge for one's own milk or orange juice.
Electronics: two wide-screen TVs/Radio but no DVD. Again: given what you're paying that might be expected. WiFi worked but only just: often rather slow perhaps due to the large number of weekend guests.
We took friends to the Brasserie for lunch. The Brasserie is quite beautifully furnished and in the Summer there's a patio as well. Service was very slow and at least one of our orders was muddled. Moreover, the french fries were not hot at all; rather soggily warm. For the rest, the food was all right but certainly not above average either in taste or the way it was served (and decidedly overpriced; the 'simple' lunch for 5 set us back by 250 euros; we had only standard main courses among which a mere, not very good club sandwich; as a first course we shared 8 oysters). There was also a distinct sense of 'attitude' as if it were an honor for us to have lunch here. Perhaps staff were having an off-day...
It's quite hard rating this hotel. The very fine building and the excellent porter service off-sets the rather average food and other small challenges. But we'll be kind and say it was 'very good'.

Room Tip: All rooms would appear to be good - and nicely quiet - given the very fine double glazing.

One of the best hotels I have stayed so far. If some one is bored from all the chain hotels or group hotels, this is the right place to be. Very centrally located. An art piece it self. Every thing at its best. Quite romantic to be precise.

Room Tip: Try their duplex rooms

Stayed in the hotel for three nights. Absolutely perfect. From check in to check out. Firstly, what a great design and what a beautiful ambiance. The public areas so beautiful. The restaurant great. The room super comfortable - and the service absolutely perfect. Especially when compared to service level I am used to in Amsterdam. I will definitely return. Oh, and what a beautiful Spa! Trying to think hard about some cons and nothing much comes to mind. Perhaps the distance from the canals (10 minutes walk) but then again, it is just outside the main museums so even that did not bother me. And it IS expensive. Otherwise, going back home very, very happy.
