This is one of the nicest large hotels I've stayed at. Everything is impressive, from the staff to the room accommodations.
While we were checking in we expressed our disappointment that we had neglected to book online tickets to Anne Frank's house and it was sold out. The concierge pointed out that not many people realize it's open quite late and that there's usually no line towards closing. We said we'd give it some thought after we settled in the room. After settling into our upgraded duplex suite, the concierge called and told us she had tentatively booked a restaurant for us near Anne Frank's house which would give us time to enjoy a good, leisurely dinner and still tour the house. She was right on both counts. The restaurant was so good we went back after the tour to have desert. Further, during our stay, she was very helpful in helping us refine what we wanted to see and our restaurant choices. When my wife became ill, another concierge arranged to have a doctor visit her in our hotel room and allowed us to put his charges on the room bill.
The room was very impressive. All the walls were covered in either light limestone or marble which is a very interesting look for a hotel room. And the furnishings were appropriate for the look and feel of the room, e.g., expensive leather chairs. The bathroom fittings were excellent. Both our showers had teak benches to sit on and large diameter shower heads. The only adverse comment about the room is that it took a while to figure out how to control all the lights and shades from the electronic console. The food was good, but not memorable.
Because of my wife's illness, we were not able to see everything we wanted to and we'll definitely go back and stay at the Conservatorium.
