“Most beautiful hotel of Amsterdam with stunning architecture!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

We had the pleasure of hosting the Hittalks Event in the Conservatorium Hotel, and were pleasantly surprised by the stunning designs of the building and perfect location in the city centre of Amsterdam! One of the most beautiful Hotel's we have seen, with such a hospitable welcome by all employees, that we would recommend it to anyone looking for a location for events or meetings!

My husband and I stayed at the conservatorium for a long weekend July 25-29. It is a beautiful hotel, with unusual and innovative design. The staff was amazing. We felt warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived at midnight. We had been traveling all day and the front desk people immediately ran to get us cold drinks. My husband remarked that he could use an iced coffee, and within moments, it arrived in our room. It was my birthday, and my husband had ordered flowers for the room. A spectacular bouquet was waiting for us there. The concierges were always available and eager to assist. The front desk was fully staffed at all times, and everyone was so warm and helpful. You will not find a better located hotel, in the heart of the museum district with easy access to great public transportation. Highly recommend the conservatorium.

First thing to mention is the outstanding staff and an absolutely stellar treasure of a concierge, Peter, who is the hotel's best weapon and best kept secret!
He's so well versed, informed, dynamic and willing to always go the extra mile to advise, plan, prepare and deliver the best time to guests!
Staff is polite without being overbearing.

Hotel is unique, beautiful, grand and of course, although a bit on the pricey side.

Well worth a visit however.

We had a minor misunderstanding / screw up about breakfast being included in the rate...
We never had breakfast in the hotel even though it was included. When being checked in, we were not informed we had this option. Instead we took breakfast outside. Was a shame because the offerings looked so tempting and wonderful!
Perhaps next time!!

We stayed for a special occasion at the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam. We can sincerely recommend this hotel to every type of traveler: business or pleasure. The location is perfect, the staff sublime and the hospitality exquisite. Supurb restaurant, very well equipped and designed rooms and one of the best bars of the city. Don't forget to visit the Spa. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Take a look at the different rooms and their veiws, ask the staff. But the Van Baerle Suite is subli...

Excellent hotell - we will come back within the next 12 months :-)

Very relaxing atmosphere - service world class - yet informal and modern

The interior of the hotel is an attraction in itself - very successsfull merger between the old classic style and the modern style

Food in the brassierie was very good - in the gourmet restaurant the service was good but the food not to our taste

All in all a very pleasant stay and a place we are determined to visit again

The modern design is appealing. It's in a great location if you're focusing on the museums in Amsterdam--could hardly be closer. And, unlike some, I didn't find the electronics particularly complicated.

However, there were gaps and inconsistencies in service which shouldn't be happening in a hotel of this price range. For example, it was nice to get a welcome gift of fruit, but most of the fruit was tired and decidedly unappealing. While the breakfast spread is pleasant, good luck getting one of the hot options supposedly included in the price--I never did, twice because I couldn't get anyone to come ask me, and once because it took so long I had to leave before it showed up (frankly, I wasn't sure that it ever would). And a doorman once chided me for coming in at the main entrance; apparently, I was supposed to intuit that a staffed entrance was closed.

Next time, I think I'll try the Sofitel.

Dear guest,

We are very sorry to hear that your stay has not been completely satisfying and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced. I must say that I was quite shocked to read that the fruit we served in the room was passed the usual quality we normally serve our guests. This has been highlighted to the colleagues that are responsible for the daily check to ensure that fruit is refreshed in time. I am also very sorry to hear about the service at breakfast and can assure you that your comments will be a focus for our continuous training in the Brasserie. I really hope you will be our guest again and provide us with the opportunity to demonstrate the unparalleled service and experience you deserve.
