“Good stay - recommended”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2012

Good clean budget hotel with friendly staff in a reasonable location depending on what you are wanting to visit - would use again. We were on the top floor and the stairs, as in a lot of hotels in Amsterdam, were pretty steep and plenty of them. No complaints though and happy with the stay.

Even though an older hotel, our room was quiet, clean and comfortable.
The tramstop was nearby (but not noisy) and going into the central city was easy. Staff were helpful and friendly.
The breakfast was well prepared and adequate. We would prefer stronger Italian style coffee rather than American stewed style. We had a cup of tea instead!
We enjoyed our stay, thanks.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room at the back.

The room was clean and included coffee/tea facilities, breakfast was average (included eggs, selection of cereals, cold meats and fruits), although very crowded.
Close to a tramstop with easy access to the tourist attractions and city center. Staff obliging.
We were issued only one key, and we were three people sharing the room. Made the logistics a bit tricky.
VERY steep stairs and no lift, we were on the 3rd floor. My parents aged 50+ struggled, will be cautious with kids as well.

Fully agree with the previous review by boringoldfart75: expensive, shabby place. Not worth your money, specially given the location too far from the city center. The rooms are not too bad but overall the price was much more than I'd pay for a similar place in any big european capital. And on top of that, they charge you for storing your luggage there for a few hours on the departure day.

This is an expensive, shabby place that should be regarded as a bed and breakfast and not classed as a hotel. Our room was tiny, dirty and the breakfast area was no better. If more than half dozen turned up for breakfast at the same time it became impossible to move. I have better facilities in my own kitchen. The locatiion is ok if you don't mind taking a 15 min tram journey to get into the city but remember the trams end at midnight and the taxi's are expensive. All in all I was very disappointed and would not recommend this place at the extortionate prices that we paid.

Since we wanted to stay after our trip from Paris, hotel Atlas (sister Hotel ot Wilhelmina) was full. They made arrangements for us to stay at the Wilhelmina.
This was equal to the quality and high standard of service we received in Atlas. We enjoyed our stay in the large compfortable rooms with nice new TV's. Also very centrally located and next to tram stop so we could even stay late. Hotel has a nice feel about it for easy going travellers.

Room Tip: Book rooms on the lower floors - no lift.
