A party of four adults and 2 infants, we stayed in the Gold Apartment of the Bridge Hotel in early April and it more than met our expectations and our needs. The hotel is ideally situated off the beaten track yet within comfortable walking distance of the centre and most of the major attractions. The apartment itself was spacious, clean and well furnished with one large bathroom and another small but adequate toilet/shower unit. Although the kitchen had ample supply of tea and coffee fixings, a very modern stove and high end appliances ( kettle and coffee percolator) as well as fine crockery and cutlery, a most generous buffet breakfast was included in the rate. The staff was friendly and helpful and we did not find the lack of an elevator to be a great drawback. All in all we were very pleased with the accommodation and its location and considered it good value for its cost. We would not hesitate to recommend it and would definitely return there on any future visit to Amsterdam.

We chose this hotel on the basis of TripAdvisor reviews and ratings and weren't at all disappointed - The Bridge Hotel is a great value in the heart of Amsterdam.

The room seemed particularly modern, clean, and large by European standards. The contintental breakfast was excellent.

Most importantly, I would emphasize the hotel's great location, and perhaps offer a few tips. Some previous reviews seemed to indicate that you "must" take the tram to get around and that it's on the outskirts of the city. The Bridge Hotel is on the outskirts of the *city center* and we found it to be within a 10-20 minute walk (0.5 - 1.5 miles) of a number of the city's main squares and attractions. On a number of occassions, we found ourselves all the way up at Centraal Station by foot - and we even walked to and from the Anne Frank Huis. The museums aren't too far of a walk either - and all of this commentary is to say that if you are used to and comfortable and indeed seek out exploring cities by foot, this hotel is quite centrally located. It's in a quiet, safe area as well.

The Indonesian restaurant next door ("Flamboyant") was great, and there are also good pubs at both ends of the street (Amstel), a few minutes' walk. The many restaurants and pubs of Rembrandtplein are less than 10 minutes away by foot.

In addition to the tram (the #9 and #14 at Waterlooplein particularly, though other lines are a close walk as well, including the ones that go to the musem), we'd recommend taking the Canal Bus around the city - there's a stop down the street from the Bridge Hotel, at Waterlooplein.

I stayed at the Bridge Hotel for Easter weekend, on the basis of price (all of the Amsterdam hotels had a 4-night minimum stay, which made our 3-night trip 33% more expensive). We paid €115 per room per night including a great buffet breakfast.

It's a decent hotel, if a bit basic. No fancy stuff like mini bars, hairdryers or coffee makers in the room, and the furniture is a bit plain. On the other hand, everything was spotlessly clean, we had lots of hot water and fluffy towels, and the staff on reception were very helpful and friendly. The location is great - a lovely old street on the Amstel, with a few low key neighbourhood bars and cafes close by. It's within 20 minute's walk of most of the sights, yet quiet and safe enough to get a good night's sleep. Good base for a weekend in Amsterdam so long as you don't expect anything too fancy!

My extended family and I stayed at the Bridge Hotel just before Easter Weekend. This was our second time there. Stayed there last year and loved it, this year was no different. The owner was coming out of the hotel as we parked and grabbed four of our bags to help us in the front door. Staff care and concern for us was excellent. They are genuinely friendly, called cabs for us, advised us on sites to see and where to eat, phoned for meals to be delivered, and made us feel sincerely welcome. My mother-in-law is a tough customer, and she loved this hotel. The stairs are a challenge, but no more than anywhere else in Amsterdam. We stayed in the studio apartment which I recommend for a family of four. If we return to Amsterdam, this hotel is my first and only choice.

The location of the hotel is great! A quiet location, but easy walking distance (10 minutes) to Rembrandtplein, which seems like "club central" Amsterdam. Lovely Magere Bruge bridge close by, which is written up in travelguides. Easy 20 minute walk to the Rijkesmuseum, or you can take the trams. We had intended to take the trams to get around town, but found it really wasn't necessary, except to go to Nieuwe Zjid (to visit Anne Frankhuis), which we were able to walk back from in a meandering path.

The room was clean and warm, if a bit on the plain side, but the bathroom was spotless, white tiled, and the shower closet is bigger than one I had used in hong kong, and more comfortable than one I had in New York. The bed and bedding are comfortable and very warm. I love the cleanliness of duvet covers. :) We had room 103, which is adjacent to the reception area, so it was a bit noisy when the late night foot traffic was going by. But we weren't detered because it was close to the best candy jar in town at the reception desk.

The staff was very helpful with directions, and getting around. Internet/computer use is so cheap! 2 Euro per use, with no time limits.

The breakfast buffet (included with stay) is awesome. Three cheeses, selection of meats, selection of breads, make your own boiled eggs, cereal, juice, coffee, milk, and little sweets to go, as well as a selection of spreads.

We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone, especially considering the reasonable price.

Would stay here again!!
