Good and varieted breakfast, nice people in the front desk, nice decoration in the hotel, close to trams, computer service in loby, clean. I fell down in city center and when I arrived to hotel receptionist offered me ice for my foot. We would come back there.

After reading all these great reviews you expect so much so I was a little disappointed. For what you get I found it expensive. My family and I had 2 rooms for 3 nights which both faced the inside court yard (no street view, no canal). They were both on the 1st level. Hotel is simple but clean. Service was very good and accommodating. Location is also good. It takes about 30 minutes to walk to central station. The rooms however are small and simple for the price. Decor is plain (Ikea looking). The rooms are also not sound proof. In my room I could hear snoring from the adjacent room. My kids had a room across from the reception desk and could hear a lot of the activity going on. I put poor sleeping quality because of this. Otherwise the beds were comfortable. AGAIN, THE WORST PART WAS HEARING SNORING FROM THE OTHER ROOM NEXT TO OURS. To be fair, I will say that this was our first time in Amsterdam so I could not compare to other Hotels in this class rating. Perhaps the price paid and room is the standard. However if I go back to Amsterdam, I will look for something else.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a canal view in advance.

I found the hotel to be basic but very clean and good value for money. The central location was brilliant and we were able to walk to most of the attractions like the Rembrandt plein or catch the tram (easy to use and very frequent). My room also provided with a view of Prinsengracht canal. Breakfast was another delight. Would definitely use the hotel again for future trips.

We are returning this year for a fifth visit to Amsterdam, and a fourth stay at this very comfortable and well-situated hotel. It's not cheap, but its location and no-fuss approach to service are a boon.

Room Tip: The rooms with canal views are obviously more attractive, but the city itself is so attractive that...

I totally agree with other comments on Tripadvisor regarding this hotel, it’s a little gem. We had a spacious room (203) overlooking the canal, with a small balcony. The room was clean with comfortable beds and easy Wi-Fi access. The staff are excellent and extremely helpful, only to eager to assist with things like language problems, and advise as to where the local supermarket is located. The hotel provides a sumptuous breakfast which is served over a long period of time, allowing guests to sleep-in. We booked a taxi to the airport (at reception) for 9:00am on the evening before leaving the hotel to fly to London, and the taxi driver was waiting in the lobby for us at 8:45am. The only ‘downside’ was that it rained constantly for two day while we were staying at the hotel, but given the efficiency of this establishment, I think, they may have been able to do something about the weather given enough time!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the canal.

This hotel was an absolutely lovely find. We had room 101 which looked out onto the canals at the front of the hotel which had an amazing view that was lovely to wake up to! The Hotel is excellently situated within the city. The tram #9 takes you right into the city centre & also right to Amsterdam Central train Station. The room was large as well as the bathroom however the only problem was that we asked for a double bed only to find two singles had been pushed together; this does not effect my view on the hotel. The beds were very comfy and after returning from a days out in the city we came back to a fantastically cleaned room. The hotel offers free wifi which was very helpful to us.

Room Tip: If you would like a room with a canal view then i suggest room 101!

We found this hotel to be first class and a gem for the money. The hotel is in a fantastic location in the centre of Amsterdam and within 50m of the famous Magere Brug ( Skinny Bridge ). The neighbourhood is quiet, but only a few minutes walk to some of Amsterdam's hottest bars, clubs and attractions. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, and often made us free coffee and teas. Also the sweet jar on the reception desk became popular too. What more can you ask from a hotel?

Tip book well in advance of travelling. This hotel is often full.
