“Excellent choice for a short break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

The Bridge Hotel is in a very convenient position beside the Amstel canal. Easy to get to from the station - good directions on their website. I took tram 9 (bought a 3 day ticket in the office opposite Centraal station) but could have used the Metro - tickets are valid on trams, buses and Metro. Having read that there are 5 floors and no lift, I requested a room on a lower floor and was given a room right next to reception. I was a limitless apprehensive as I thought it might be noisy but, apart from one man who sat outside my door to make a long and loud mobile phone call, I hardly noticed any noise. Lovely spacious room with wonderful view of the Amstel, and very comfortable bed. Wifi worked well in the room. Only complaint would be the very dim lighting - impossible to read a book without lifting the bedside light to shine it on the page. Not all rooms have dim lighting though, my niece said her room on the 3rd floor was very bright. Very pleasant, friendly and helpful staff on reception, ready to answer questions, and gave us some good restaurant recommendations within 10 minutes walk. Good breakfast selection in the downstairs room.

I travelled here with a collegue so we booked a double room (2 single beds). The room is spacious enough, the bathroom is pretty good and the breakfast is nice!

The hotel is located near Theater Carré, which is a great looking building. Since the conference we attended was held in Tuschinski Theater (a really great building!) we walked from our hotel along Rembrandtplein, which has some great bars and restaurants. The walk only took us 5 to 10 minutes and you'll come across some nice bridges and canals.

The only "downside" of the room is the lack of power outlets for chargers. You'll have to move the bed and unplug the lamp to have only one power outlet.

Room Tip: Don't forget the free candy at the desk when you enter/leave the hotel ;-)

Spent a long weekend at this hotel. Had a room overlooking the canal. It is in a very quiet location and within walking distance of all tourist sights and museums. Good provision of choice at breakfast . No negative comments to make at all. Highly recommended.

when we arrived, the kind lady at the desk spotted my husband's cane and offered us a room on the first floor. Our room was right by reception, but there was no discernible noise -- and we had a wonderful view of the Amstel.

The room was a good size, adequately furnished, but no more. The lighting was very poor. Bedside lamps illuminated the nightstand top, overhead lights illuminated -- nothing, really.

But the staff was nice and helpful, the breakfast fine, the location wonderful -- and that view!

Room Tip: take an amstel-view room on the first floor -- no stairs!

Pay extra for a room with a view over the canal - it is worth it. The breakfast was very good, although it was missing the standard bacon and egg. The hotel is not a luxury one, just clean, relaxed and comfortable. Good location with tram line 4 quite close. You can rent bicycles. We did.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a room with a view over the canal.

My sister and I stayed for 4 nights while we enjoyed a break in Amsterdam. The hotel is in a really good location, just a few minutes walk from the Rembrandtsplein and several trams within a couple of minutes walk. The staff were friendly and efficient. The rooms spotless, quiet and had everything you would need. The decor is functional funky. Beds really comfortable. It is a good 3 star - perfect for a leisure break or for business if you don't want an all frills hotel. Lovely and extensive continental style breakfast . I would definitely recommend this hotel and would return.

Room Tip: A room at the back quieter probably but the best view is from the front.
