Perfect bed and breakfast, clean friendly, charming room, great breakfast, knowledgeable staff and excellent location Was in Amsterdam August 1-3 and wanted to give my daughter the real taste of quaint and charm. She loved it and it met all of our expectations. We did have a heavy suitcase and that was trip schlepping up the stairs. But that was my own fault. I highly recommend the Bridge

Room Tip: we had room over the canal great view

Went for a long weekend - Friday through to Monday - during the Gay Price weekend (which we had not bargained for, but was a delight).

Situated within easy reach of the sights, but sufficiently far away to be an oasis of calm.

Wonderful service, scrupulously clean, comfortable and delightful in all respects - would certainly avail ourselves of this establishment again on our next visit.

My only complaint (and a very small one that did not detract from the experience) is that there are no tea making facilities in the rooms - but I guess that's a Brit thing.

The place is excellent - between the Amstel and some canal of it, You can choose to go to the center and other attractions by leg, by boat or train. And yet it is very quiet.
The room is very clean but minimal! You can only sleep and wash yourself there. You can't even boil water for yourself - because there is not any kettle for it. You can't keep any food for there is no fridge. You must wake up early in the morning - with the sun - which woke up very early while we were there - because of the curtains which are not opaque.
While we came - the road was blocked because of some road repair, so we couldn't reach near the hotel with all our baggage, and while we arrived - we found very narrow sloping stairs, directly from the street to the reception. It was very dangerous for our children!
But - The dining room was very nice and clean. The breakfast was varied and tasty. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful.
So - if you get your room in the right side, if you don't expect more than minimal needs, and if you are going to your adventures all over the day and return only to a short sleeping - it is a very good place for your vacation.
But - be careful about the stairs while going and coming!

Room Tip: Higher flor, looking to the river on the backside of the hotel. (This side is cheaper than the side...

When we arrived at the hotel we asked to see the room, because it was a hot day. The room we apparently ordered was in the basement and it looked like a closet with not windows other than a dim skylight. It was also quite hot with no A/C. We refused the room and were offered a room on the third floor with windows, which we accepted, for more money. None of the rooms have A/C and they don't have an elevator. Our room on the third floor, with windows was quite nice and comfortable, especially after the weather cooled. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was also nice.

Room Tip: Make sure to get a room with windows (not a skylight) unless you like small, dark, closet like rooms...

The service was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was huge and to start to explore Amsterdam it was the best starting point. Our room was looking to the gracht on the backside of the hotel and it was romantic and quiet.
