Nice and cosy hotel right in the center of the city. Beautiful view from room on the canal.
Breakfast not so good.

We stayed here end of March in the family room, a nice large room with a great view of the canal and bridge both from the room and the huge bathroom, lots of light! Since the room was on the street, there were street noises, but that's to be expected. Great location for walking, and people watching. Grocery store close by, as were lots of places to eat. Staff was very helpful not only assisting with our stay, but they were more than helpful in FedEx-ing a cell phone left behind, back to the States. A little noisy on the street side, but the view and the staff to make for a great stay, and more than made up for any street noise.

Room Tip: We also staying on the inside rooms, quieter but without the great views.

Wi-Fi access is spotty, the family suite was very noisy as it faces the main thoroughfare with many drunks and late night bicyclists and scooters and the floors were extremely creaky in our room. The windows are old, and probably necessarily so since they curve and add to the external charm.

If you can get past these negatives, Hotel Weichman has several things going for it. It is in a perfect location, near several parking garages (if you deem a car necessary), has well appointed rooms, offers a nice breakfast buffet, and the staff is very friendly (including the hotel's dog, Taz). The noise would have us looking elsewhere if we were to stay in Amsterdam again, but I would look for another hotel in the old part of the city as it was beautiful and packed full of museums, restaurants and other important elements.

Mmm, yes. Sorry about that. Perhaps on your next stay you would prefer one of our family rooms on the courtyard where it is pretty quiet? Somethings we just cannot control.
I do hope to see you again.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in the family suite. Very large, clean room. The reception was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location to the Anne Frank house and other sites. We rented a van rather then use public transportation because of the places we wanted to visit - Kinderdijk, Delft Pottery and Keukenhof. There is NO parking and dropping off luggage can be a challenge as the streets are narrow, not allowing other cars to pass. There is a nice secure lot - Europark Q park- just a few blocks away and about 40 EU a day. The hotel does have a resident German Shepard named Taz. She is very friendly and calm, but if you have an allergy to dogs (as I do), it makes for a congested stay. The hair from the dog is cleaned up, but still effected our allergies. Noise from the street and the grandfather clock can be heard easily at night. Breakfast was simple with cereals, breads, meats, cheese, egg and juice/tea/ coffee, but it was filling for our family. Staircases are steep, but the reception did offer to help with luggage if we needed it. No lift and all the rooms are up at least 1 staircase. So if you have difficulty with steps, this not the place for you.

We had a very nice room here while staying four nights in Amsterdam. The hotel is conveniently located between two major tram lines, each about 7 minutes away. However it is not immediately next to a tram stop, and has typical Dutch steep staircases, so if you have trouble walking, this is not the place for you. The location on Prinsengracht is nice and we had a great view of the canal. Breakfast is fine but basic. The staff is very helpful.

Room Tip: I will say that the price of a canal-side room is that you hear bikes, people, etc. going by at nigh...

very nice location, clean rooms, excellent service, but unfortunately, there was a lot of noise at night.. breakfast was all right, we could leave our luggage while still visiting the city. Cosy home-atmosphere.
