“A friendly, well run hotel, in a beautiful location.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

We stayed at this great little hotel for a week. The only room available for our timeframe was a very small room in the back so we took it. The room was small, but very clean. The bathroom was tiny, but modern and clean. The hotel itself is small and cozy, very European exactly what we were looking for. The breakfast area was very clean with a decent variety of items to choose from and all the tables had place-settings. The staff was super great! Bruno and Tony were super helpful with anything we needed. The hotel is centrally located close to everything. We loved a small little Greek deli (Grekas Deli) just down the street. We highly recommend this little jewel of a hotel. We will certainly try to stay here again when we return to Amsterdam.

Room Tip: Don’t expect this to be the Ritz in Manhattan. This is more like a small family run bed and breakfas...

We stayed in this hotel in late June 2012.

Pros
- great location near city centre and major attractions in the town
- nice view from the window
- helpful stuff
- continental breakfast
- greek restaurant next to hotel, also some other shops

Cons
- very small room
- strange smell in the room (do not know what from....)
- absence of mini bar
- we were charged a deposit 2 weeks before arriving, but hotel claimed not to charge anything, maybe their bank do, we do not know..
- 5% extra, when you pay with credit card

I stayed here for four nights and had a fantastic time, with an easy walk each day to all the sights I wanted to see. The staff was friendly and accommodating, helping me with directions and booking tours, and breakfast each morning was simple but filling. I had a room with a lovely canal-view and the beds were comfortable. My one reservation is that, for those with limited mobility, the steep stairs might pose difficulties. For me, it was good exercise!

Room Tip: Rooms with a canal view are lovely but do have some noise coming in at night.

This hotel is a very old canalhouse so do expect steep stairs and no elevators. We stayed here 3 nights in late May, 2012. The hosts are very helpful and directed us to some very good resturants very close by. Everything you want to see is within walking distance. The central train station is within walking distance or a very short cab ride away. Our room faced the back and was VERY quiet. Our friends stayed in a canal view room and they did say there was street noise. We are after all in the center of a big city. The bathrooms were brand new and ours was roomy for a small hotel. The free wifi was extremely helpful.

Room Tip: I would recommend the back facing rooms as they're VERY quiet. Why pay more when your're jus...
