“Nice old hotel.”

Hotel is old but nice, cleand and has perfect location. Personnel is receptive to questions and helpfull. Breakfast variety is enought. Bathroom es modern, not old. Wify is good.
Very quiet, but party is five blocks just crossing the nearby canal. Also boats trips is just four blocks.
Educative sector is in the neighborhood museums and park.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Aalders, which is located close to several museums and Vodelpark. Our room was large and fit our family of four perfectly, and had a door to the garden. Hotel was clean and staff friendly. Breakfast was included in our stay as well.

As others have said, this hotel is perfectly located for visiting the Rijksmuseum, van Gough Museum and Vondel park. Its on a quiet, leafy street and close to some up-market shopping, if that's your thing.

The staff were uniformly helpful and informative.

The (single) room - 1a - unfortunately was tiny; possibly the smallest I have ever experienced, ever. There comes a point when a hotel room ceases to be functional and this tested the limit. Ditto for the bathroom. This isn't so much of an issue if you are only there for 1 or 2 nights, as I was, but it would be impractical to stay here for more than that. I'm sure other rooms are larger.

There was no air-con, as I expected and a small fan, and an open window onto the nice back garden area provided cooling.

I will forever be grateful that when I asked about restaurants, they had The Seafood Bar on the map. Not far away, this is a fantastic seafood (naturally) restaurant.

Overall, once I got over the shock of the size of the room, the stay was very enjoyable. I would go back, but would make sure that the room was a more conventional size.

Room Tip: Room 1a is a single, and tiny.

As you can probably tell from the title of my review, I always stick with a good thing. That is how I feel about Hotel Aalders. For me,the location is perfect as I prefer a quiet residential neighborhood to a "party street". Yes, the room is small, but it is tidy, very comfortable, and quiet. I have become familiar with the area and find it easy to navigate on foot or via the nearby tram. Pampa restaurant is a short walk away. I ate there three times during my four night stay and enjoyed it . Someone is always at the hotel reception desk and they are more than willing to provide any help you might need.In my case, they provided me with directions and even helped me book a train ticket for my journey to Berlin. Their included breakfast got my day started and carried me through to lunch with ease. What else can I say? This is a good old-fashioned hotel and I think you will enjoy staying there.

It´s 10min by foot from the first restaurants, 15-20 min from the center. The rooms are a bit small but cozy. The personnel is very nice and kind. The breakfast is simple but good and enough. I really appreciated.

If you want to have a glimpse on the interior of a dutch ''old'' house Aadlers Hotel is a good choice. It also has the advance of the location - in the middle of museum district - and the proximity of public transportation station. The staff is very friendly. The rooms cannot be described as big, but they are clean and have all the facilities.

The big advantage of the hotel is its practical location right in the center of the museum district.
It is ideal when you plan to visit the different really nice museums around.
The old city center ("De Dam") is at walking distance (approx 30 minutes)
The Rooms are clean and correct, however not extremey luxurous (furniture is a little dated).
The breakfast is continental and correct
You can get the tramway with a stop very close to the hotel (lines 16,24,12), which is practical when coming from Amsterdam railway station of from one of the P&R parkings outside the city.
Amsterdam is not cheap for hotels, but price Quality ratio is OK (we paid 115 euros for a double room, breakfast included)
A small minus is the bottle of water on the room, which is charged 2 euros, whereas this normally should be included in the romm-rate.
