This is a lovely family run hotel in the upmarket Museum Quarter of Amsterdam. Within easy reach of all the attractiions and a short walk from the Van Gogh museum etc, it really is ideally placed. Considering it's so central, it's also very quiet and peaceful, some of the rooms have balconies over the garden. The staff are friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and spacious, breakfast was a good choice and plenty of it in the attractive dining room. Free internet access in the cosy little bar. The only improvement I could think of would be tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms.
Thanks for a lovely stay!

I Looked everywhere for a family friendly hotel and Here it is, They were able to put up to 4 beds in one room and it still felt like we could walk around, rooms are simple and clean and full baths . Breakfast was great and we loved the location, close to everything on a quite street.

Booked this hotel after an internet search and was a little scared how it would turn out.
Turned out to be an excellent choice. Great location, good transport connections, quiet street, Museums next door. Helpful friendly staff. Wi-fi.Despite some noisy Americans in the next room, could manage a decent night's sleep. :)

Will return unhesitatingly whenever next in Amsterdam.

Hotels are expensive in Amsterdam, and this hotel provides good value. The service was friendly, the breakfast was good, and the room was fine. It wasn't exactly spacious, but it was larger than some others we've had. There is free wifi in the downstairs bar area. The hotel is in a nice location near the Van Gogt Museum and the Riksmuseum and there are a lot of restaurants and things to do nearby.

Amsterdam, like any capital city, appears to be quite an expensive place to stay. Hotel Aalders offers a relatively cheap and perfectly agreeable option. It is set one block from the Museumplein in a very nice tree lined street. It is an easy walk into central Amsterdam and perfectly situated for public transport links, whilst enjoying the benefit of being in a relaxed neighbourhood with good restaurants and cafe/bars. We really enjoyed our stay here and it acted as a perfect base for exploring the City. Further on the plus side, the staff were friendly and polite and there is a 24 hour reception from where you can book tours and there are bikes to rent from right outside the hotel. The breakfast is nice and the hotel very clean. Slightly on the down side, the decor is a little dated (if that bothers you). It is not a "boutique" hotel by any stretch of the imagination but then you are not paying boutique prices and it does have a certain charm. The bathrooms are also perfectly good (clean and with new showers etc). Recommended.

We loved everything about this very European hotel. The quiet street that was near public transportation and any action one might want; the gorgeous room on the 4th floor above the tree tops; the friendly, helpful staff who were always available; the delightful breakfast in a beautiful room. We can't recommend this hotel enough. We would definitely return.

Room Tip: Room overlooking the street was great for us.

We stayed in the Hotel Aalders for 4 nights in May and we would definitly stay there again.
Only a 5 minute walk from the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum, it was the perfect location for us. The street it is in is quiet yet you are only 1 Tram stop away from Leidseplein which is an area full of bars, clubs and cafes. The number 2 or 5 Tram both stop at the end of the street and bring you to Dam Square, and Central Station. The Hotel is clean and the staff could not be more helpful. Our room was lovely, looking out over the garden, we even had a balcony. Breakfast was more than adequate - Cereals, Boiled Eggs, Cold Meats, Cheeses, Bread, croissants and fruit. If you are looking for an old fashioned, friendly, family run hotel in a great location then this is the place for you! We will be back.
